My first car was a 1973 Monte Carlo

It looked a lot like this one. 350 4 barrel, bench front seat, moon roof, power windows/locks, it was a great ride. I've had a lot of other cars but that was my first and I still miss the huge hood, smooth/floaty ride at 120mph.

Funny Mark, the 1983 S-10 I owned had a 1973 Monte Carlo 350 4bbl in it before we yanked it out and put in the ZZ3!

1969 Chevy Impala, Green with a vinyl top and after market A/C. Bought it from my grandparents for $500 in 1976.

1977 Toyota Corolla, collision orange, purchased used in 1979. Exactly like the one you see now on "That 70's Show". Actually, I think that car is mine.

1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Parents gave it to me as a college graduation gift in 1985. It was their old car.

1983 Mercury Capri R/S, purchased used in 1986. Mercruy's version of the Ford Mustang GT. 5.0L 5 speed. Kicked butt. Someone hit me head-on and wrecked it after I had it for only 6 months.

1985 Toyota Celica GTS, purchased used in 1987. Funest car to drive.

1988 Chevy Blazer S10, purchased new. Very useful and fun. Kept it almost 10 years.

1997 Chevy Silverado P/U, purchased new. 2 wheel drive, 5 speed. Hated it. Traded it in in 1998.

1995 Ford Bronco, purchased used. Nicknamed "The Beast". Loved that truck, but had to trade it in for a 4 door because of kids.

2001 Dodge Durango, purchased new. Current tow vehicle, 400 miles shy of 100,000.

1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse, purchased used in 2004. Gets 30MPG, currently used as daily driver.

The wifey has had: 1979 Ford Pinto, 1985 Chevy Cavalier, 1992 Olds Achieva, 1997 Chrysler Concorde, and her current 2005 Buick Lacrosse.

'82 Honda Accord was my first car. Owned for 14 yrs.
I added heavier front and rear anti-sway bars and made it a really sweet handling car. Crank windows, no radio (as delivered). 72 hp was just fine.

'96 Dodge Caravan. Really. For a young family with 3 kids, what an awesome vehicle. Owned it 10 yrs. Lots of trips and great family memories.

Cars
'82 Honda Accord 3dr
'82 Nissan Stanza 5 dr (used)
'89 Taurus LX wagon (nice car but REALLY, 2 alternators, new intake manifold gasket, and transmission in less than 60K miles) (low miles dealer demo)
'96 Grand Caravan SE
'92 Maxima SE 5spd (used)
'97 Jeep Grand Cherokee (used)
'00 Subaru Legacy (used)

I've owned about 40-50 cars and about 10 trucks so far, and I've driven literally thousands of others.

My favorite of all time was my 1990 Corvette Convertible. Black with a red leather interior, 6 speed. I loved every minute of owning that car. My current 2004 Mercedes S430 4matic is a close second. One drive in one of them and you will know why they get $85,000 for a new one.

Least Favorite - 1982 Chevette - car wasn't bad, but I hated it.

Most reliable - Lexus ES300 - on the second one of them now.

Least reliable - Anything I had early on, because I couldn't afford anything that wasn't really close to the junkyard.

Best drive: Miami Florida to Indianapolis - about 1100 miles in about 17 1/2 hours in a Corvette ZR1 in 2000.

In the 70"s didn't 454's come in Chevy's and GMC trucks mostly?? Unless it was a transplant.. Olds,, Pontiac,, Buick all had there own version of the 455... Caddy had just started with there 502 around them... No substitution for cubic inches...

Favorite vehicle was my second one purchased, when I was a senior in HS in 1982:

This shot was leaving Hemming's Musclepalooza event in Lebanon Valley, NY, this past Labor Day. Drove almost an hour to get to the track from a friend's house, ran some low 11's, dropped the top and drove back. The Admiral was in the car ahead, with your's truly and the first mate.

Our local track allowed me to take my son on a pass during a test and tune session. Even though it was only a high-11 second run, he was grinning from ear to ear!

I just told someone the other day that I am operating 66 cylinders in vehicles (and boats) currently. Have always personalized the cars to my liking so I only hated the Hillman for its oil consumption that almost exceeded gas. The engine was originally a firebrigade water pump engine.

Having lived in Europe and Asia while young(er)values of cars were different compared to here at home and they were always pampered.
Surprised over the list but cannot remember the license plates any longer, getting old I guess.......
