Most stations here in Athens (60 miles east of Atlanta) are out of gas for several days, get a shipment, then a run on that station by folks filling up/topping off, then out of gas again. My wife had to check 5 stations last night before finding only regular (her car normally takes premium). I didn't ask what she paid.
I like the idea of allowing price gouging. Charge whatever you want and no limits on how many gallons. Watch the lines disappear at that price. Fastest way to curb demand and end the shortage IMO. Once the supplies increase, prices will come down accordingly.
