If its used, usually you.

If its new, often the boat builder pays his dealer's floor plan interest amount.

If you want a new boat instead of your used boat, who pays its interest and principal, winterizing, insurance, and storage costs?

Me. 12 months a year. No boat payments but there is a slip payment, insurance, 12mos worth of fuel, licensing, etc.

What is winterizing? That does not compute! laugh laugh

If the dealer keeps your new boat over the winter, do you keep your used boat until spring?

Okay, so you're talking about the cost of this when buying a new or used boat in the fall from a dealer.

I was thinking that I could somehow get the dealer to pay for the storage costs over the winter for my 7 y.o. boat.

Here's an idea. Put it on a boat consignment lot over the winter and don't accept any offers.

I'm glad that is a decision that I'll never have to make...

I'm sure that if a value is placed on your trade-in, the dealer will expect it in the same condition (hours, wear and tear, etc..) come spring time.

I can't imagine not being able to boat year-round... frown
