After my incident with some shallow water a couple of weeks ago I finally found time to remove my chewed up prop and take it into my boat guy. He quoted approx $65 to repair and balance it which I thought was very reasonable considering the damage.

Yep, that's a good price.

How come the prop looks that bad and your skeg looks brand new? wink

I have no clue as I have yet to obtain the ability to see what my prop is hitting from the helm. All I know is that I was only going a few M.P.H. and the water depth went from 7' to 2' in an instant.

just had mine repaired after an encounter with a rock in shallow water. It looked a little better than yours but not much. They only charged me $65 as well. Looks and runs like new. Since that mishap I now kill my motor about 20 yards from shore and oar/drift into my tie off.
