Yes, it seems from the report that they were on land, not in a boat. Not much else they could do.

Boat looks like it was for sale:

A rare opportunity to own a classic motoryacht with style and luxury! Only four of this model built. Forget about all the bells, horns, and whistles that cause a breakdown when not working and a nightmare to maintain and understand. No electronic controls, diesels without turbos but with speed and economy which are all very practical and trouble free. The "KISS" theory "KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID".

I know it's a tragedy - but knowing everybody is OK, I had to laugh at that paragraph. The boat was 65 feet not 55 as reported - wonder if they're prone to breaking up?

I tried a different computer and the movie worked. amazing footage.

I guess they do not have to worry about selling the boat now.

Maybe it was 55 after the bow fell off.

Good thing they were not out to sea when the bow fell off...

Glad to hear everyone was okay...

Looking at some of the other stories on the link, I noticed the folks in Alabama are easily offended...

For the last couple of years, there was a 34ft Cruisers named "Onward and Upward" two slips down from us in Grand Haven. I met the folks a couple of times, but cannot remember their names.

Two years ago, the guy got sick, then last year, he worked in Germany for most of the summer, so they were not at the dock much, so we really never did get much chance to know them that well.

A month ago, they bought a new boat, a 44ft Sea Ray with Navy blue side trim. They then moved to the high-rent slips in another part of the marina. I didn't notice a boat name on their new boat yet.

I noticed last weekend that they are gone, and someone had mentioned they were on a trip to Mackinac Island.

Suppose they were the rescuers?
