In July, we're heading to Virginia and North Carolina for about 10 days. CJSA's best friend lives in near DC, so we're going to spend 2 days in and around DC, and then the next 4 days in OBX. It'll be our first time on the east coast, and I wouldn't mind a fishing trip based out of Corolla, NC as long as it doesn't run me a grand or more (so far as I can tell, many offshore boats run this, and then some). Can anyone point out a charter boat in OBX, a microbrewery/brewpub (besides Dogfish Head) in DC and OBX, and good restaurants in DC, and in OBX?

CJS, do you know where in the DC area you will be staying? Considering traffic, you may want to look for restaurants within a reasonable commute. We live west of the city, and there is a local brewery, Old Dominion Brewing Company, that has a pub attached. We also have Sweetwater Tavern that is more food oriented, but with five microbrews on tap or to go. There used to be a few Weeping Radish brewpubs on the OBX, but they closed down. I heard that the brewer moved operations to 10 miles north of the OBX on Hwy 158.
