I have 5 AVI files (total 403MB) that I would like to have linked together to one file (for continuious playback) that I can play on a PC or which I can burn to a CD or DVD to play on a DVD player.

This is a somewhat personal video which I would need quickly. today or tomorrow.
Not something I need any advice as to how to do it. Not interested in that at this time. Just need the vids linked.

If you can help me with this, I'd appriciate it. My email addy is in my BABC profile. Either send me an email or a PM.

Thanks Chris HF

Do you have XP? I can do it, but I could tell you how to do it faster than the files could be transferred.

What mike said...it really a simple process (like just as easy as uploading a picture). You're going to have issues sending files that large. You almost need to upload to a server and have the other person download. They are too large for email.

I can do it but I am in Fontana, probably 1 hr drive for you. Shouldn't take too long. I use vegas Studio with good results.

Thanks Mike, and others for your help and offers. I knew I could count on BABC members.

I didn't even realize XP has a Movie Maker program standard. I have used similar programs, so was able to fumble thru it and got what I need for now.

Again, a BIG Thanks !!

Anytime! WMM is limited, but what it does do, it does pretty well and is simple to use. One heads up - I was having problems with it with my system page file size at the default of 2GB. I increased it to 8GB and have had no more problems.

I tried to do something similar with WMM a few days ago but it would not import my AVI files. I had to find a freeware AVI converter to convert them to WMV and then import the clips into WMM. Once it was imported, it was simple. Any ideas?

TEG, unfortunately not a fun personal vid. But an important one.

Just for info
The 5 files I had were AVI files.
They totalled 403 MB. Two were over 140 MB and the others were about 40 or less.

Once made into 1 WMV file, it is only 54 MB.

WMM cannot conver to a format playable on a DVD player, but at least I was able to burn the WMV to a DVD-R and play it on another pc with Media Player.

You can use WMM to make a very high quality file, you have to pick 'other options' when it recommends you use the quality best for playback on your computer.

I use a free program called DVD Flick to take that file and burn a DVD. I've had pretty nice results that way, since I've so far been too cheap to pony up for a packaged product.
