Not a bow rider not a closed deck.

I think I really like that. How do you enter the front seating?

Was there a price?

Maybe adults would get in from a float/pierside next to the boat before going out for a ride and kids would scamper over the rumble seat back via the windshield opening from inside the main cockpit?

From the CC website:

"Lancer 22 Rumble
Chris-Craft is preparing to unveil an entirely new model in 2006 to add to our growing fleet. This new closed deck runabout, known as the Lancer 22 Rumble, will contain a rumble seat in the front deck. One of the unique features of this new 22-foot model is a button located on the key fob that, when pressed, reveals the hidden seat in front of the windshield! The Lancer 22 Rumble is scheduled to make its debut at the Miami International Boat Show in February.
Make sure to check back often for more information on the Lancer 22 Rumble."

cheers,

JJ

Now that is really a unique seating layout, I've never seen a rumble seat like that.

Seems CC is really into the "WOW" aspect of boating.

Thanks...

Neat toy. But the look of the helm just doesn't measure up to the rest of the boat.

I would like a arm rest for better and more restful throttle control. I am a beliver that its one hand for the wheel and one hand on the throttle when driving.

There is a wall between cockpits. You climb over that wall to go from cockpit to rumble seat.

Interesting boat but the bucket seats look like something from the 70's.

The CCs are very nice. They all perform well and are using top quality stuff. I looked hard at the 25' bowrider and it is very nice. It does not meet our needs, but these are great boats. I have a very good contact at a dealer if anyone in the Midwest needs one... he is a non-BSer and gets to the point.

The rumble seat looks cool.

Note that the 20' model has a different hull shape to lower the bow-high attitude when running compared to the 22' models.

Ever wonder where some of these Chris-Craft designs come from?

It has a classic design. Isn't this a common design with older wooden boats?

Yes and no. They tried for the classic look, and succeeded very well. But the construction is modern, which does influence the design, if you look closely enough.

Cobalt did this "rumble seat" idea with a fiberglass boat several years back.

Very retro, but (ahem)...aside from a few well-to-do's that will buy it just because it's different, I'm wouldn't bet on a lot of sales...

I'm a Chris-Craft fan, but find myself siding with FR on this one. I appreciate the effort that went into the design, and it is neat, but... less room than a bowrider, more difficult to access than a bowrider, more mechanical stuff to fail eventually... aside from the novelty factor, why would I want one?

I think it's the same thing as someone buying a sports car. It's not the most cost effective or functional vehicle, but it's fun to drive and cruise around in.
