Last Sunday my wife and I drove up the Tail of the Dragon. It is a road going from Tennessee to North Carolina over the Smokey Mountains. It has 318 curves in 11 miles. We both drove and it was fun.
The leaves are turning colors and it was so beautiful.
Here a couple of photos taken as we went by the corners.

Beautiful pictures. Colors are amazing. My son has been talking about doing that. Long drive for us.

Nice, I've been meaning to get up there too! We picked up a little Mini Cooper S convertible last winter that would be fun to toss around those curves. What's the typical time to travel the 11 miles? Was it very crowded this time of year?

I did not time it as we stopped to take in the views etc. We went on Sunday as this week was going to be cloudy and raining. Short window to see the tree colors at their best. The traffic was moving all the time and if you came up behind a slower vehicle they would pull over as soon as they could. There is a really nice hotel on the Nth Carolina side wife and I will stay whenever our schedule lets up. Historic Tapoco Lodge
