What really surprised me is that the Cedar is covered in a fiberglass mat both outside and inside. The outside mat is smoothed perfectly flat and is effectively Gelcoat that is smooth, fast and you can not see the fiberglass mat at all. Believe me I looked close and it becomes completely transparent and only the beauty of the wood shows through. The interior is left a bit rougher and you can see the web roughness of the glass mat, but not the glass itself, which provides a rougher surface for shoes or feet to grip.
He had some used ones that were in for "repair", but looked more like were in for a fine detailing, as you could see some minor scuffs, but they looked better than my boat.
