I have no idea of the history, just came across this photo and posted it up... it's getting added to my 'I guess things could be worse so don't [censored]' list... wink

Would become real interesting if the driver was just towing his friends boat home for him. Stay friends for much longer?

The back and top of that pickup bear a striking (OK, that was a very bad pun!) to the new Corvette C8.

Can't imagine how hard they must put the brake on for that to happen.

Would almost think they would have had to hit something to create enough force to do that.

can you get a ticket for running a red light if your truck stops short of the intersection but your boat doesn't?
Perfect placement of being just short of the stop line in the road... at least with the truck.

It would have been a pleasure to watch the traffic cam video of that "unintentional grounding."

Was surprised to see that it was on a bunk trailer.

Thought for sure it would have been a roller trailer.

The good news! Truck has great breaks.
Bad news! My tie down straps are rotten.

Ha, I guess we are sexist. My wife would never drive with the trailer attached. So I.to would assume the driver was male.

The admiral once towed the boat on the freeway from Albuquerque to Santa Rosa, NM so I could sleep for a few hours. Thought it was safe since it was a straight shot on the freeway. Little did I know there was construction that she had to navigate in the middle of the night. She did fine (for all I know), but the only other towing she has ever done since then was the empty trailer from the bottom of the ramp to the top of the ramp. Never backed it down, as she claims she's missing the backup gene.

My Galley Wench has never towed our Whaler or even backed it. I think she's missing the same backup gene as Justi's wife.

In her defense however, when we first bought Beachcomber and were bringing her back from Portland, coming upriver, I was mentally and physically exhausted. She drove for about 2 hours whilst I napped on one of the long seats on the bridge. I told her to keep it between the buoys and wake me if she needed something. A good job was done by her on our first trip with the boat.

Many years ago, sometime in the '70's, maybe the '60's? -- my aunt & uncle Beth & Ken, plus a cousin (forget who, have so many, 8 years-ish old girl) in the back seat, were towing a 30' travel trailer behind their Lincoln Continental. Uncle Ken got tired, so aunt Beth drove awhile. Not sure of the how or why, but she ended up driving off the right side of the road, and the trailer ended up squarely on top of the Lincoln, which IIRC was upside-down. My cousin managed to get out thru the back window, aunt & uncle got out once the tow truck pulled the trailer off the car. None of them were hurt other than a bit bruised. I need to make some phone calls to see if anyone has pics of that... wink

I bet that ride was one that (a) was never spoken of again in her presence, or (b) was joked about for years.

Not many people have a trailer with a second floor view.
