Looking at replacing my wife's 2016 Tacoma with an Expedition Max. For now, it will be used to occasionally tow a utility trailer and one of our smaller stock trailers. Hopefully, there will be a boat to tow in its future. My vehicle (2019 F350) is the heavy lifter in the family. Anyway, have located a new, never titled leftover 2019 Expedition Max Limited. Advertised price is 15% off MSRP. Lots of 2019 Expedition Max Limited and even several Platinum trim level vehicles on the market right now with most being previous rentals; some were Ford Motor Co. credit rep demos. Not a lot of the used ones are Ford certified, but there are a few out there. I believe a lot of the previous rental vehicles are ones being dumped by Hertz as part of it's bankruptcy filing. With that background in mind, do you have a suggestion for a target discount on a new 2019 leftover?

We have also found a certified 2019 with ~20,000 miles. Its been sitting on the dealer's lot since Sep of 2019. Carfax is clean, and sales rep says, "no rhyme or reason" it's still there. Didn't seem too motivated to sell when I inquired why it was still available. I guess the good news is that the market for Expeditions is not the same as for boats, RVs, 1-tons, chainsaws, lawn mowers, bike racks, facemasks....

Guess I'd want to see what they want for a 2020 as compared to what they want for the 2019. Typically incentives only apply to current inventory & can make them a better deal. Doesn't make any sense but that is the cari industry. If the used one's price made sense I'd be okay with it. If not i'd go new.

Well, never mind. The new leftover 2019 listing was in error. It was actually for the standard Expedition, not the Max. Couldn't download the window sticker originally, but once I got it, saw the error. Oh well.

Same here. I was negotiating on a couple of trucks (2020 F350 DRW and a 2020 F450) back in March. Was pretty close to finalizing the price, but around Mar 15, decided to hit pause as I wasn't sure what was going to happen with my work situation. Work situation solidified and I have been slammed since April. But, I didn't start looking again at a new truck for me until about early July. No inventory to be had within a 400 mile radius. Not even used trucks. Would have to order one. In the meantime, The Admiral decided it was time to move beyond her 4-passenger truck. Market for large SUVs seems to be tilting towards the buyer, so we'll continue to pursue a vehicle for her. Will wait until the COVID-1984 madness ceases before I begin looking at trucks again.
