Well, it has been a while but we got the boat wet this past weekend.

Kids getting older and probably not that many family boating outings left.

Here some pics of the day, Some chilling on the hook, some swimming and some tubing filled the afternoon.

I don’t know - those smiles imply a lifetime of boating still to come.

Love the smiles. They show that family time is so very important and priceless.
Much better than keeping your head buried in a smartphone.
I gotta get mine out again soon

Our nearest granddaughters, ages 14 and going on 17 have decided that boating is one their favorite things to do. Neither have learned to ski, but we are planning another week at the lake in August. I think I can entice at least one of them to ski. If so, that might enable checking off one more to the bucket list of skiing next to each of my grand daughters. If not, there is always next year.

Have a great day of boating

Ken, where in the world did you steal those three BIG kids from? They look a lot like the little ones I remember from the "before" picture. It's amazing how fast they grow up.

I doubt your family boating trips are done. What's going to change is they will want to bring their friends along, and as they grow their little short legs all of a sudden become long thing to trip over as you move about the boat.

Ken, I don't know how to break this to you gently so I'll just lay it out there......

My oldest at almost 13 asked when he can invite his friend's to our lake house. I asked with or without us and he smiled and my wife just about choked. He rattled off about 5 of his besties that they call "the tribe". We'll be at the lake over Labor Day so why not

Our daughter is 10 & we are in the same boat. We set up 1 bedroom with a set of bunk beds & a twin bed for that purpose.

Thanks Guys.

Yeah. Time compression. What seems like yesterday is like 5 or 6 years ago. Son is a High School graduate and the girls are seniors now.

The good thing is I dont have to do EVERYTHING now before we go, launching, on the water and upon return.

All can help clean and prep. The boy can drive and did a good job backing the empty trailer down to load. Helped set the anchor, filled the tube, clean etc.

Let the boy tow home 1.5 hours. Did great.

All went well, except dinged my prop and darned near forgot to raise the outdrive when pulling out.

Rememberd the drain plug though!

All good. A day in the boating life....

Wow, the kids have really grown!

Time flies, mine are both in their 20's and mostly acting like adults, at least as much as I do. roflmao

Looks like happy times, great family pics!...and wow....15+ years since a lot of us joined this board...just crazy. I took my middle to college a few weekends ago so only 1 left at home now. Funny you mention how nice it is not having to do everything these days...our middle one always was the one to do the cover dive at the end of a day of boating to set the poles...now its back to me...and I'm not as nimble as I used to be. :-) ...but I am looking forward to a little cooler weather boating as we head into fall.

Soak these next few years in, we've always been a very active family but I'm still sitting here thinking about how many more times we could've gone out this summer...and wondering if we'll ever have another summer of all 3 home with us. Keep enjoying the moments! smile thumb
