Justi, sorry but I didn't take any pics yesterday. But think about this-->if I did take some and share them with you it would just p!ss you off because you couldn't be on your boat. Well, that's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.

It's funny, when I was an early teenager I had a Sailfish that I spent countless hours on sailing on Lake Huron. That boat and I were ONE, and you guys know what I mean. With a Sailfish there's a fine line when it's windy between dumping the boat over and maintaining a fast sailing speed. I could FEEL that boat and knew just when to let out the main sheet just a tiny bit to keep it from rolling over.

It was kind of like that yesterday. We hadn't been on the boat since the first weekend in December when we did the lighted boat parade. Yesterday the little wind there was was coming from the NE, the opposite direction it usually comes from. I was a bit anxious about backing into the slip because (1) I hadn't done it in several months and (2) the wind direction. When I backed her in I nailed it and that added to the day's enjoyment.

Great days like that make great memories.

Sorry about the hair.

Agree with Justification that being the resident cheapskate you would be reinvesting the saved funds into something awesome.

Keep up the positive attitude & you will be back to normal in no time.

On a positive note we got a call from our accountant yesterday & our tax return will be decent this year.

That make me breath a little easier.

Kevin, that's always good news. With all the stuff going on in my life right now I haven't even thought about taxes. I'm glad they postponed the filing date to July 15. Gives me some time to get everything to my tax guy.

Justi, Thus far the goatee hasn't shown any signs of shedding but I ran a brush through my hair this morning and it looked like I had brushed a dog. Yeah, once this stuff starts getting real thin I think I'll just shave my head and save the haircut funds.

One thing I thought about but haven't mentioned to GW yet is that this quarantining is going to really cut down on our cash outflow. No restaurants (Ka-ching), reduced miles driven (Ka-ching), not as many trips to the grocery store (Ka-ching), no shopping for women's clothing or shoes (KA-CHING!).

We went to the grocery store yesterday to pick up a few things. Yeah, right! $150 later she came back out to the car. GW won't let me go into stores with her, won't let me get out of the car if we go anywhere, etc. So it was just Sailor and I snoozing in the car while she shopped. She said it was like a war zone so she's not anxious to go back soon. She even picked up a large ham so we can subsist in our isolation a while longer.

Stay safe all you guys. This isolation time is a good time to get some projects done around the house. I've done several and have a few more to do. Irrigation water comes back on 3/31 so then it will be time to really get after things.

I shaved my head in 2000 and haven't paid for a haircut since. Get some clippers and buzz it all.

I have been cutting my own hair for a couple of years now, looks as good as the barber shop did. I used to use an expensive set of clippers that we had for our dogs, who I also trim. And yes, I use blades for people on my hair and blades for dogs on theirs!

A while back, I started using a cheap beard trimmer and find that works at least as well: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01K1HPA60/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The only part I need help on is the neckline in the back, which my wife takes care of for me.

What's this "isolation time" of which you speak? I was hoping to have some so I could spend it finishing up the houseboat. My biggest customers have ongoing work for me lined up for months, and ain't no pandemic is going to stop it! Nothing has slowed down here yet. And the wife cuts my hair so.... wink

We are busier at work now then we were 2 weeks ago. Lots of customers calling today looking for something fast were surprised to find out how busy we are.

FR, man that rocks. Those additions to the bottom line are great and will give you some guilt-free time on the water when things do slow down.

A couple who live about 150 yards from us had planned a Thanksgiving dinner for this group of friends who hang out together. It isn't Thanksgiving, but they planned it because we all feel we have so much to be thankful for. Well our goberner put the kaibosh to those plans when he said no gatherings. So yesterday they cooked the turkey as planned, I cooked the stuffing and we exchanged food on our back porch. At least the four of us had turkey and stuffing, albeit not together.

Rather than let this beautiful head of hair I have/had leave a bit at a time he offered to shave my head for me. I agreed, with two stipulations:
1. It had to happen at high noon next Saturday
2. It had to involve some shots of a very good tequila for me

I'm not sure if there will be before and after photos but if there are I may post one on here.

Well today was the grand unveiling of my scalp to the world. My hair had decided to take leave of my scalp and I was shedding like a crazy ol' shaggy dog. Even our Roomba couldn't keep up with it.

So we decided the only way to deal with it was to shave my head. We organized a neighborhood gathering (keeping in mind our social distancing) for the party. About 20 neighbors showed up and brought their lawn chairs and whatever they wanted to drink.

We were going to do it at high noon but we changed to 4:00 p.m. because noon was too chilly and also too early to be doing shots. So here's what I looked like before the process began...
[Linked Image]

and after all was said and done and a few shots of Patrol were consumed, this is what the end result looks like....
[Linked Image]

The neighbors were great. The brought several new hats for me including one from the Oh Boy, Oberto hydroplane that one of the neighbors works on the pit crew for, a Trump hat which Tina promptly said she could use for toilet paper if we ran out, and several others.

They also brought a collection of hand made signs....

and a few others.

What a great collection of friends/neighbors we have.

Actually, you gook great with only skin. I hate to say it but "your look years younger."

Down here is SoCal, all barber shops and salons are closed for the duration. I haven't had a haircut for over a month. What used to be a flat top that I first got in the '50's, is now three times longer than it should be, almost able to make a part and comb to the side. Except my hair has known no other hairstyle for so long. My wife keeps telling me there are a lot of people who will be aging three decades if the salons don't open soon.

Keep up the positive vibes. We are all with you vicariously. Besides, your repertoire never stops building.

Jack, beauty and barber shops are also closed in WA. I have an appt next week to get my hair cut but can't get in touch with the gal who cuts it because the shop is closed. But because the shop is closed I guess it doesn't matter so much.

Catch-22

I have my second (of six) chemo treatments tomorrow. In a weird sort of way I'm looking forward to getting it done. I'm looking forward to getting ALL of them done so I can start to get my life back on track. If they all go as scheduled, some time in September will be my parole date.

I had my second chemo treatment today. It went about the same as the first one except it took longer. I got the feeling that the staff at the oncology center was tired and seemed to lack that certain attitude that I saw 3 weeks ago. They're working 4-10's and my nurse said she liked the shifts but it was obvious that things are not as snappy.

Stay safe all.

Can't imagine what it would be like to work in healthcare right now. The stress has to be insane.
