I'm always amazed at what people find the time and money to put in to. Looks pretty cool as a water taxi in relatively calm waters. Couldn't find many videos other than on super smooth water. Found a short one off of Miami and the motion of the cockpit looked like it might be a little odd feeling, maybe more susceptible to sea sickness than a traditional hull boat? IDK, I've never ridden in a hydrofoil boat, but would like to give it a shot.
If we want to keep boating going for the generations to come there will be changes for sure...the one thing we can count on...change. Hoping some of these new ideas work out and become affordable...for boats and cars. The $200k is pretty steep even with operational savings.
I'm not an Elon Musk fanboy, I've actually synthetically shorted the stock several times, but read the book below early last year...the dude is nothing if not tenacious...just a matter of if his money lasts long enough to figure everything out. I don't short the stock any more after reading it!
And here's a rough water video, not very long-- https://youtu.be/T40DSBnLTks --the nice thing about hydrofoils, being shaped like knife blades there's hardly any water drag so getting more speed is easy... and with the cabin nowhere near the water at speed, choppy water isn't a big deal...
