Ahoy mates!

Just thought I'd jump on an wish you scallywags a Happy New Year and best boating in 2020. I'm still lurking now and then. Still boatless, putting my son through animation school and trying to relocate to the Virginia Beach area. I think 2020 may be the year...for that, and hopefully a new boat. Decided not to bother until we live closer to the water.

Hope you're all doing well!

Mark

Mark, it's nice to see your avatar spring up again and at such an appropriate time of year. HNY to all of you and best wishes for a long and safe boating season ahead.

We're headed to the club for a Roaring 20's party. It's a dress up affair and should be a lot of fun. Photos to follow.

Captain - You have not posted any progress reports on your lake house in a while. Any progress to share?

Guess i dropped the ball on updates. Progress continues albeit slowly but at least the finish line is closer. Interior of the house is done. Only room with any work remaining is the utility room & a good weekend would wrap it up. There are still some exterior projects to wrap up. House had a deck on the back that we figured we could rework. Upon demo this past spring we decided there was nothing worth saving so we ended up tearing out the whole deck. We were looking at getting concrete done but couldn't get any contractors interested. We also tore the siding off on the lower level rear of the house, removed 32" door & replaced with 36" then installed new siding. In the spring we will tear off the upstairs siding & replace once weather breaks.

Another weekend of work we should have the second floor done & another weekend to get everything painted. Then exterior work is done.

Kevin, looks like you're progressing nicely with your job on the house.

Here's the promised photos from the party at the club. We had a good time but left there around 1030 to go to a party at a neighbor's house. Good times were had at both parties.

Jack, you must be able to read minds! My initial thought was to go to the department I used to work for and see if they'd let me check out the Thompson .45 auto. Then I figured that wouldn't fly, besides it's REALLY heavy and I wouldn't want to tote it around all night.

Then I thought about a shoulder holster and stick a long barreled revolver in it. I have a couple S&W's to choose from.

But "Dapper" won out over "Gangster" so I dropped the gun idea all together. That was a good move I guess because I didn't have to shoot my way out of the yacht club. gunner
