Looks like lots and lots of boating in the western US. I received this report from the California Farm Bureau. Thought you might be interested.

With Lake Oroville standing at 98% of capacity, the state’s Department of Water Resources announced on June 20 it will increase the 2019 State Water Project allocations to contractors (Metropolitan serves as the contractor for San Diego) from 70% to 75% of requested deliveries. This will stand as the final allocation for 2019. 2018’s final allocation was 35%.

The Bureau of Reclamation predicts levels at Lake Powell will go up 55 feet before the end of the year, and officials anticipate they will release nine million acre-feet downstream for the fifth year in a row. According to the Bureau, the release from Lake Powell and increased flows from tributaries downstream will likely mean Lake Mead goes up by about four feet, keeping it above emergency levels."

We've got water on the great lakes. Water levels are running 10-28 inches higher than a year ago and 16-33 inches higher than the monthly average for June. There are many places along Lake Erie where boats can't leave the marina's because they can't get under the bridges and the forecast doesn't look much better with only a 3" drop over the next month.

I can’t even get to a ramp to put my boat on a lift. Everything has been flooded since I don’t know when.

I have a friend that bought a boat on Kentucky Lake. We were supposed to bring it up in April. Now the Marina where he’s at on KY lake suffered severe storm damage last weekend. Nobody is allowed in and they’re not returning phone calls.

Utah Lake is at 95% full right now, I don't think it's been above 75% for the past 4 years.

Flew out to the east yesterday and all the lakes I could see ( East, Echo, Jordanelle, Rockport, Causey) look full, as does your lake

Maybe tomorrow, but that would be with the Regal. I crawled inside last weekend, first time since covering 'er up fall of '17. I was surprised to find the batteries still had 10.8 volts showing. Technically dead but they charged right up. No worse for wear inside other than crud that gets past the cover between it and the sides of the tower.

Been making pretty good progress on the big boat, it WILL see water this year, might be well into fall, but it'll be floating I found my 40-something year old Craftsman air sander that I've never actually used, got some 7" 24 and 36 grid resin sanding pads for it, and WOW! It is right quick at getting after the rust and abrading And I found out my other best friend is phosphoric acid and $1 paint brushes, work that stuff into the pock marks the sander doesn't reach and within minutes all the rust is gone and all the bare steel uniformly darkens. The transom and about 15' from the stern back is about 2 hours from ready for coal tar...

Nothing but rain here in the upper Midwest. We had lots of precip all winter, all spring, and now the summer is off to a soggy start. We have only been out twice so far this year. We tried this morning as the forecast said no rain until 3;00 PM. The thunder started just about when we were about to head out. I scrambled to get the boat buttoned up just before a major storm hit. Lots of flooding and wind damage. Looks like another round is headed our way and should arrive within the hour. The forecast has rain for the next two weeks (not kidding). Oh well.
