Been some time since posting, but still lurk from time to time and enjoy keeping up with everyone. On a recent business trip to Seattle, brought the Admiral for the weekend to finish the week.

We connected with a former co-worker and her beau who were kind enough to treat us to some time on their 1960 40' Chris Craft Conqueror. She was originally built with gas engines, but was repowered with twin diesels along the way and was just a treat to spend time aboard. These old wooden boats have a soul that is something to experience.

Wonderful time had and a beautiful afternoon/evening enjoyed! Much different than time on our Chappie 220!

Enjoy the Photos

Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Those old woodies are beautiful but you have to be filthy rich to be able to maintain it as it should be kept.

Thanks for sharing that link with us.

GFC, Yes, I agree on the cost to maintain 'as it should be kept', I thought the same. But I realized during our time onboard that although she wasn't 'perfect' by any stretch, she was still wonderful and very enjoyable! We don't live where we could have anything like this, so quite a treat. For what he has into the boat, it is an affordable way to enjoy as long as you aren't chasing 'perfect' … smile
