They bought Cobalt Boats earlier, now buying Pursuit from S2(Tiara)

We should see more of these "acquisitions" in the next 6 months by different builders.

It seems to me that many of the companies that are being sold are family businesses that have been running them for many years, maybe generations.. The later (current) generations might not have the same passion and they are seeing now as an opportunity to cash out. Historically, many sellers (sometimes part of the selling family) use the cash to start anew by setting up shop with a new brand/product line. However, I don't see that happening now.

So are Ebbtide and Reinell still dormant?

The following found at http://www.reinell.com/about-us/

Reinell bought by Campion, Canada's largest independent boat builder, a family business. That's a change.

]About Us
Reinell Boats
Reinell Boats was recently acquired by Campion Marine of Kelowna, British Columbia. Campion Marine is a family run business and has been building quality boats for over 40 years. Campion is also Canada’s largest independent boat builder.

The goal is to continue the 80 year legacy that Reinell Boats represents while continually improving the product line. We listen to our customers and we have the freedom to design and deliver the kinds of boats you want. Our focus is to bring you the best value for your boating dollar.

Reinell & the Environment
At Reinell, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint, while maintaining our dedication to building top quality, high-performance boats.

We are proud to use Ashland’s Enviro Responsible Resin, a renewably sourced bio-derived resin from Ashland Performance Materials. Enviro Respsonsible Resin uses a substantial amount of soybean oil and corn derived ethanol in its formulation. The use of Ashland’s MAXGUARD LE gelcoats further reduces emissions.

We use Ecomate environmentally friendly flotation foams and Acrastrip, an acetone replacement that is recognized in partnership with the Design for the Environment division of the U.S. EPA.

We are a lean manufacturer who continuously seeks out ways to reduce waste and work with suppliers to provide more environmentally sustainable products.

From this website, maybe Ebbtide is no longer in business. Documentation is dated 2014.

http://www.ebbtideboats.com/contact_us.asp

2012 news article says they were bought by Chinese company.

https://www.tradeonlytoday.com/industry-news/ebbtide-boats-sold-to-chinese-company

Not much else around the internet that indicates they are still in business as Ebbtide.

Pretty weird...

--screenshot from the web page:
--shows a 2018 copyright, and the 'search for a dealer' brought up Heringer Marine... which went out of business 2 years ago...

Yeah, it appears that Ebbtide is toast. Still not clear about Reinell. The great recession was brutal.

I was disappointed to see Cobalt sell out to Malibu last year. I thought Pac had a son, Paxson, involved in the business?
