Hi All! I'm in upstate NY not to far from Albany and the weather has just been miserable. It's April 16th and it's sleeting and freezing rain as I compose this. The club where I keep my boat has postponed dock installation and says no boats will be allowed until after May 5th, which is two or three weeks later than usual. Not that I can fault anybody. One person told me that some sections of the lake still have ice 11 inches thick. Some areas that were open water are again, skimmed over with thin ice. Forecast is for rain most of the week. I started to try to do some other incidental stuff on the boat, but it was so cold that I lost all my desterity. I'll do more if it ever warms up.

I removed the swim platform on the bayliner and had it redone over the winter. I would like to install it, but the weather has been below freezing or very close to freezing so I haven't started the project. I haven't pulled off any of the shrinkwrap either. There is quite a bit of old caulk to be removed on the transom, but it's just too cold and miserable. [size:17pt]

It is snowing here in Chicago today - about time for some nicer weather.

Brrrrrr. We are cold too. Only got up to 65* today, winter storm warnings at higher elevations, and wind advisory elsewhere.

How long will it take the ice to melt enough to clear it off the vehicle?

THis may very well be our last winter in PA. We've both had it with the long and late winters, northeast corridor traffic, attitude and taxes. We are headed south the second I find a job. Ideally, Virginia Beach, second...Tampa. We're looking at property in St. Croix as well, but that would be a longer term investment.

Boating up this way is gorgeous, but only for a few months. Life's too short to cram it into 4 or 5 months a year, and we are warm weather water babies.

Warmer climate is sounding real good about now. They are forecasting more snow in Chicago tonight. Enough is enough already.

He Captn Morgan, You really only have to scrape the glass. Right? Local weather man prectics a possiblity of 1-2 inches where I live tomorrow. Boy, Winter just won't quit. The same weather guy says that to-date it's the 2nd coldest April on record for this area.

How many of you have seen the movie GeoStorm? I saw it on an airplane last week and the photo here was a lot like a scene in the movie. Yes, I would recommend taking a look at the movie. Here's the trailer:

yup, the weather is drunk and it needs to go to bed.

February was warmer than April . . . it seems.

I have not seen Geostorm, but the trailer looks cool.
