Regal has introduced a new model that is very interesting, they call it a Sports Activity Vessel. Lots of neat features. It is a bow riding, express cruising, outboard powered fishy boat. Take a look that this YouTube Video

I like that more than a lot of other boats I see out there. One big question mark would be the forward bunk. Maybe it was just the camera angle, but it looked like there was only a bite more than a foot of "headroom" clearance over the bunk.

I realize they had to do this to make things fit in the boat, but I see three helm chairs and an aft facing recliner. To me, what I see is a 4th person who might not have a place to sit because there are 3 helm chairs and that person might not want to sit on the recliner and might not want to be alone in the bow seating area. On boats I've owned there are usually two couples so someone is going to have to be the odd man out on that Regal.

I realize those are nit picky things. Overall I like Regals and there's a lot to like about that boat.

In my boat everyone wants to sit in the bow and I am left alone in the aft section. The once in a while that I am not captaining the boat I sit in the bow and enjoy the smooth waters. It almost feels like riding a motorcycle.

The new Regal looks similar in concept to the new Boston Whaler 350 Realm.

The Tiara 38LS is pretty much the same thing as well. Looks like a trend.

The Tiara clearly benefits from being bigger.
