Everyone got their shopping done?

My wife handles our daughter for the most part & i do some assisting. My son bought a new f150 a month ago so he was easy to shop for. My wife & i do not exchange gifts. We never really have. Decided early if we want something we would rather get it ourselves & get what we want rather getting something we don't want & worrying about hurting the other feelings. We are very fortunate are in the position to be able to buy nice gifts for the ones we love & really enjoy doing so.

I'm done. I have only my wife to shop for and I bought her......ready for this......a hand mixer. It's a joke that would take too long to explain on here. She saw it in the trunk of my car so she knows one of her gifts. I bought her a few other things but nothing major.

Our major gift to each other is a European river trip we're taking in June. Fa la la la la, la la la la!

I'm sure I will. A boat. A river. A new area to explore.

Doesn't get much better than that. I wonder if they'll let me take the helm. It's a cinch I can't get lost on a river.

Cruise Line? Start and finish?

"I wonder if they'll let me take the helm."

I have been able to "visit" the bridge on 3 out of 4 cruises we have taken to Europe. On our ocean cruise earlier this year, the bridge was only open two times in two weeks, and our schedule had us off the boat each time. I found that the captains are really happy to show off their machines. The times I was there, only one or two other passengers were there. And, yes, one did allow me to take the helm--it was on auto-pilot (:') Great experience none-the-less.

Jack, we'll be taking Viking River Cruises, starting in Zurich, hitting 2-3 rivers and ending up in Gay Paree. We were originally scheduled for 2 days in Zurich and 2 in Paris. I added 2 additional days in Paris. I figure you just can't see much of Paris in 2 days. Four days probably won't give us more than a glimpse, but that will be enough for me for a first trip.

Mike, Make darn sure you visit
Sainte-Chapelle. Well worth seeing. Less than a 10 minute walk from Notre Dame. It has the most incredible stained glass windows I have ever seen.

We don't buy a lot of presents these days. The Admiral decorates the inside, I do the outside. I finally finished the holiday lights. With the advent of LED lights, I can now light up the trees in side yard (only 3W per spotlight).

Nice job Dock!

GFS, let me know how the Viking cruise goes. I’ve been giving that cruise some thought

Wing. We have been on three river cruises (one on Tauck, two on Uniworld) and one Viking Ocean to the Baltic. We prefer the river cruises, but the ocean cruise was pretty good once we got underway. We went on the river cruises just as a couple--no friends or relatives. By the end of the cruise, we made some great friends. On the ocean cruise, with a much larger passenger list, we went with another couple and had a great time with them. We did our tours and they did theirs, but usually had dinner together. Making friends on the ocean cruise was more difficult just because there were so many people. We also found ourselves on a lot of buses on the ocean cruise. Food and service was better on UniWorld and Tauck.
