So as you know the Tige is a 2007. Was taken care of but the "Tribal" decals were suffering. plus it dated the boat a little. Removing them allowed me to compound the hull also. It is coming out very nice. Using the carbon fiber one of our divisions makes. No comments about the socks with flip flops confused

Old badging...

I think it looks a lot classier without the decals.

At least you weren't wearing Crocs with socks!

Looks great! I've never been a fan of the gaudy crap they stick on the sides of ski/board boats, so just taking those stickers off was a big step up as far as I am concerned. The polish and new decals look real classy.

How long did it take to remove the old graphics?

Looking good. We have a similar project for the spring.

Thanks guys...too bad she goes away for the winter next week c.. The large one on the starboard side came off easily. 30 minutes maybe. The rear one and the port side must have sat in the sun more. They came off in little pieces. Between me and my kids I would say an hour for the rear one and 3 hours for the large port decal.

On another note...I love how the swim platform comes off with just the removal of two lynch pins.

Nice job getting the kids on it. My daughter (7) loves those kind of projects with Dad.

Really shows off the gray/black swoop from bow to stern. Very clean. I would do something like that to ours, but it would look too plain as the hull colors are not "decorative."

Can you tell us more about the materials you used to polish/wax it?

Jack I think your boat would look great without the graphics. To me the wide color band is a very classic & timeless look on boats.

You might be right, but I think I will wait until the graphics get messed up before the tedious task of removing them. Besides, they are very robust and serve as protection of the gelcoat from scratching while pulling into the slip.

I agree with captkevin...solid hull would look sweet. The decals are not As tedious as you would think. The compound product I use is called Presta Ultra Cutting Creme. It is by far the best I have used to date. It actually breaks down into a finer grit as you work it. The pictures are with no wax just using the cutting cream. Today I went over it with Maguires flagship which is always been a favorite of mine.

"....Maguires flagship which is always been a favorite of mine."

Second that.

"The compound product I use is called Presta Ultra Cutting Creme."

Looks like there is more than one compounds from Presta. Which one did you use--Regular or Light? Hand or machine?

I see they also have marine products.

Used the Ultra Cutting Creme with a rotary polisher and a wool bonnet. Moving forward, I will probably move to the light because I won’t need the cutting action of the regular.

Meguiers Flagship is a great wax. Used Chemical Guys GAP_266_16 Phase 5 Polish Dual Action Compound and Polish with great results.

Mark that hull looks great. I like it much better without the decals. It's a cleaner look and besides, every wakeboard or ski boat out there has those graphics on the sides. Yours now stands out from the crowd but does it in a classy way.

Jack, removing those decals isn't a huge job. Use a hair dryer but avoid getting the decal too hot. If you keep the hair dryer moving just ahead of where you're lifting the decal and keeping the decal hot but not too hot, it just peels right off.

All shinny and clean. I also think it looks classier without the decals on the side. I'll bet 19' of glass was a whole lot easier to polish than 40'
And sandals with socks is a must when using compound. It gets EVERYWHERE.

Can't imagine polishing 40' of boat. My arms hurt thinking about it.
