I have a couple of friends that want me to take them fishing. I don't fish. Where should I take them? I generally boat at Blue Marsh Lake, Beltzville, the Delaware River (between Trenton and Philadelphia). What should I tell them to use for bait? DO I need a license? All I'm going to do is drive the boat.

Based on your Avatar picture, it is clear that you don't fish. Depending on the age of your friends they will need a license to fish. You can purchase a one day license or a year license. If you fish for two days then you might as well get the year license. The one day is based on fishing on a specific day. You can purchase licenses at Wal-Mart. If your friends are under a certain age (I believe it is 12) then they can fish for free. You can help the youngster however they need to do the majority of the fishing.

My son dunks worms at BML, I fished the Juniata River on a Jon boat, canoe, and kayak however your boat will not be able to be used as the river is only a couple of feet deep. I have a picture of the fish that I caught on facebook and is just a little bigger than your avatar fish.

So, we had a fairly successful day. My two nephews (both in their 40's) had a fantastic time, as did I. Both of them caught fish (I did not), but then again I was more concerned with positioning the boat and keeping a lookout.

We used two types of live worms that we picked up at Walmart, some really big fat ones and some mid sized skinny ones. We also grabbed a few bags of smelly stink stuff that advertised to be great catfish bait. The fat live worms worked the best, landing two nice perch and a sunny. Also was able to polish off a case of Miller High Life between the 3 of us and almost 10 hours on the water.

Here's some pics:

Amazing what a camera angle can do to make something big. (:-)

Good time, you had, indeed.

Have a great day of boating
