Does anyone know where to get those hanging insect repellent boxes that have the yellow felt pads inside? They are supposed to be the best for keeping spiders away. The box is paper, used to be woodgrain on the outside and have large holes on them. Also, what the repellent/toxin is in them? I'm pretty sure it is a banned substance, but I'm told they are still available some places

I think this is the stuff....https://www.wired.com/2014/01/cdc-warning-misuse-pest-strips

My FIL used these pest strips in his cabin while away from the boat and it was the o my thing that kept spiders and other insects away. Of course he removed them and aerated the cabin before we spent the weekend aboard, but I worry about getting on bedding and servingware

Try drier sheets?

I would check eBay and Amazon. Farm supply stores (real ones) may be.another option.

If all that fails, I recommend you let the spiders move in and then burn the whole thing to the ground with napalm.

Kind of like this.

This marina had too many spiders.

I always bought them at Home Depot. Hung two of them in the cockpit of the big boat during the week and I think they really helped. Of course I always sprayed my dock and lines with spider repellent as well.

I've had great success with dryer sheets for interior use in the boat. On the outside, I'm a big fan of Home Defense.

ditto the Home Defense... between it and a few mouse blocks under the dock decking twice a month, we never had spiders, crawly bugs or vermin on the houseboat. I only wish I could find something that would keep the bazillions of midges and swallows away mad gunner

We didn't Home Defense the Regal this year. Bart can tell you what it looks like...

I"m another fan of Home Defense. I spray all the places on the boat the spiders like to hang out plus all the cleats, dock lines, dock cleats and along the boards on the dock. One spray application early in the spring, another about mid summer and I'm usually good for the season.
