I started collecting my supplies for my annual October boat maintenance to prepare for its winter hibernation. I will soon be penciling in my Saturday in October to perform said maintenance and have the Sunday as back up.

Sadly that day won't be that far away. We are trying for 2 more weekends on the water. After that we will be doing the same. Have had a great summer on the water & i hate to see it come to an end.

We'll be doing the same in 3 weeks or so. I'm starting to get supplies lined up.

Just because days are getting shorter, waters getting colder, squirrels are gathering nuts and ducks are forming "V" flying formations doesn't mean we need to think winterizing does it? Last one off the lake wins (and freezes during the winterization task)!

No one ever said winterization, just performing its annual oil change and other procedures. We have this weekend yet and a fun filled weekend planned for October. I actually enjoy boating in October with a light jacket.

It's not really winterizing just yet. It's putting the boat away for the season to make time for other fun things.

I'm with OH, lets call it annual fall maintenance.

Our temperatures in Chicago are much cooler than we should be having this time of year. We have had the ac off at home for over a week. That never happens at our house this time of year. Next weekend the forecast at the lake is a high of 76.

We're still hot here, but it'll cool quickly in the next few weeks. After this weekend they will start drawing our lake down for irrigation purposes. It may be delayed a little with the amount of runoff we had.

I actually thought about getting the boat out. If the cooling problem in the boat was fixed, I probably would.

But alas, the focus shifts to hunting. Dove opens tomorrow, followed by quail, then antelope, then deer.

My supplies have been secured. I ordered them through my BIL and my SIL delivered them last weekend. I knew the retail price on what I ordered however I didn't know the discounted price. When all was settled between the cost of spending a weekend at my lake house and the supplies it came out even and my BIL even through in a brand new 3-person tube for good measure.
