It appears that in order to use photobucket as a 3rd party host you need to pay a monthly fee. Looking for other options.

I have noticed the add content has gone through the roof lately, and it seems like it runs slower every time I log in.

I probably should change, but I've got a fair amount of pictures pretty well organized. Don't really want the extra work...

Lots of discussion about Photobucket on other forums. 3rd party links (which is what image posting does) will now cost folks $400/yr. So, people are scrambling for alternatives. Meanwhile any images posted on a forum are now going 'dark' and coming up with their speedometer image.

I ran into a similar situation a year or two ago, when Comcast stopped allowing web site hosting. I moved all my 'stuff' over to eHost.com, but was unable to change the links on many old posts and threads on various forums.

I know the pictures that I posted here on BABC and OSO went 'dark' at that point. The folks at iBoats enabled it so I could go through and modify the links to my new web site(s) on eHost.

Few folks are going to fork over the $400/yr to Photobucket, it seems. So, many threads on many forums will be 'sans' images.

I knew a picture that I had on Photobucket that I wanted to use and lo and behold, it appears you can now use photobucket as a 3rd party hosting site and not have to pay for it.
