Good morning. Truck finally arrived on Friday. It was touch and go for a bit as I wasn't convinced that the transaction was legit. I actually asked the seller for "proof of life" and he did sent updated pictures and video of truck running. Maybe I'm just overly paranoid.

Truck is very nice...amazing how vehicles have progressed since 1996. I like that there really isn't much to the truck...pretty basic inside and out. Motor runs strong but there are some things that weren't mentioned when I bought the truck. There is some rust on the rear bumper, sounds like it needs ujoint work up front and the interior definitely isn't as nice as described. I'm complaining but it really is in nice condition...for most people. I'm on the anal side so I took it to the local diesel shop and I'm having all fluids (diff, trans, coolant) flushed, having turbo checked, doing complete safety check and getting front end fixed. When I get it back I will change oil, filter, fuel filter and then it should be good to go.

Glad to see the new truck is about what was expected, especially since used trucks are so hard to find in good shape.
I made the decision last night to force my oldest to finally buy his own truck after replacing the seat bottom leather on the Tahoe he has been driving since the wreck of the Volvo.
Got tired of seeing how poorly he maintains the basic cleanliness of the cars, so it's time to make him realize how tough it is to keep them running.
He got a real shock last night when he started cruising on line.

How difficult was it to change the seat bottom? Seat in my truck needs to be replaced & was considering doing it myself. Where did you purchase replacement?

About 3 hours from start to finish. One of those relatively easy, Pain in the buttocks things, that just takes some patience and a bit of common sense. youtube helps in seat removal hints.
Ordered the Leather skins from Ebay. Did both the 2002 Tahoe, and 1997 Ford F150 drivers seat bottom. About $135 each. I got the Ford from usaautoseatcover, and the Tahoe from u.s.autoseatcover. Yes they are different vendors as they shipped from different locations and arrived a day apart
search and view the part, but don't order immediately. The price dropped by about $50 from my initial search, to pulling the trigger about a week later after ebay emailed me a price change.

Justification...I feel your pain. The way my grown kids take care of their cars and boats is definitely not the way I do. I figured when they got their own the would spend time cleaning and maintaining but that hasn't happened

I replaced the front seat leather on my F350 a couple of years ago. The job was not that difficult, but I do wish I replaced the foam on the driver's seat is it is a bit sacked out. Might still do that in the future.

Some seats require hog ring pliers, but they are pretty inexpensive.

My older daughter rarely does anything to take care of her car, but when she is at our house, my younger daughter shames her sister into paying her to clean the older one's car.

My daughter shames me into giving her the money to get her car cleaned. "Daddy, if you really loved me as much as I love you blah blah blah..... and I am poor with college loans blah, blah blah..."

And old sucker Daddy pays up.

I am really not complaining.

My daughter is always by my side for all car & boat washing so I hope it rubs off on her. We have some time though as she is only 6.
