On the road again....

Well the Admiral and I are headed to the gulf coast in April to do some RV beach camping. Below is our route. We take the Arkansas route down to the coast and the Texas route back.

On the trip down we will spend two nights in Warfield Park RV along the bank of the Mississippi River.

Next we have one night in Paul B. Johnson Park, at Hattisburg, Mississippe.

Then the destination is four nights at Grayton Beach State Park.

On the way back we spend on night at Chenire LA...

If any of ya'll are familiar with any of these areas and wish to pass along some advice please do so. I plan to do some party fishing at Grayton so could use some good recommendations for 10 hour trips on a head boat out of that area.

I also plan do try to work in some scuba diving as well. Will have to get the gear out and certified.

Feel free to chime in....

We spent the night in Hattiesburg, MS one time, but it was on the side of the interstate waiting for U-Haul to replace the carburetor on the truck we were moving with. Not one of my fondest memories as we had been up for a long time before that and had another 20 straight hours of driving to go...

Other than that unnecessary trivia, I did have a great dinner in Pensacola at the Fish House. The dish I tried was their signature Grits Ya Ya. I liked it so much I now cook it at home. https://fishhousepensacola.com/

Have a great trip and thanks for sharing it with us!

We leave on Friday, April 14 and spend that night and the night of the 15th in Warfield Park. Will do some local sightseeing.

Then we spend the night of the 16 in Hattiiesburg, Mississippi.

Then we spend four nights at Grayton State Park in Florida...right on the water.....

I plan to do some fishing on a party boat or two. Then cook the fish at camp.

Will try to visit all the museums I can, wade out into the surf...that sort of stuff.

We head back on Friday, April 21, spend on night on the road and roll back into town on Saturday.

TN, Boat on Center Hill Lake
For fishing, closest probably Destin Harbor. Red Bar is nearby and a good place for lunch (good gumbo, grouper fingers, etc. & great bloody mary). Classy restaurant nearby is Vue on 30A (2 for 1 during early bird-call for reservations).

Grayton Beer Co is close by with several good beers. Try 30A Beach Blonde.

With museum interest, go through Pensacola and the National Naval Aviation Museum.
