Just got back from our annual trip to my families place on Bull Shoals Lake. Had a great time as usual. Weather was 95 everyday. Normal level of lake is 640' this year it is at 695'. So that makes some issues. Not much parking at the marina at 3/4 of the roads & parking spots are under water.

Lake is amazing. Water is crystal clear. Picture below is typical of the normal traffic during the week.

Saw this & thought of Frantic electrolysis problem & wonder how much this is making an issue. At normal lake level that light post is probably 40' out of the water. Just glad we don't have a street light behind our slip that we have to back around.

Don't you just hate it when the lake is so rough??

They were putting a new roof on our place this week. Seems like good timing with a daily heat index of 105-110 to be working on a roof.

One morning Katie & I went down to feed the fish at the boat dock & a bus full of 12 & 13 year old kids start unloading. They were from a church group & rented out 5 houseboats for the week. 8 kids to a boat. They didn't have camps like that when i was young.

Where they are walking there is normally a road & then parking before you get to the slips. With the lake 50' higher than normal parking becomes a premium.

Here an old picture of the houseboat. Its a 1967 Sylvan. Family bought it brand new off the floor of the chicago boat show in 1967. On its 3rd motor & still going strong.

This picture is on the road down to the marina. Where the dock makes the turn is where the pier normally starts.

It is a big beautiful lake. At normal pool it is 50,000 acres. At the current level it swells to 70,000 acres. Lots to explore.

Dang Kevin, the whole western part of the country is crying for water and you have are well above normal levels. Hang on to all that water, don't let the politicians do anything with it because "the tide could turn". (sorry, bad pun there!)

Thanks for sharing the photos. I didn't recognize the name of the lake so I googled it. That's quite a hike from your 'hood! Looks like a great place to take a vacation.

550 Miles door to door for us. Have been making the trip for 48 years. They are running 8 generators 24 hours a day & that drops the lake 2-3" per day.

Looks like a great place to boat! Does your Sylvan house boat stay there all year?

Does that mean table rock is real high as well?

Normal pool for Table Rock is 915. Flood level is 931, so the lake is fine, but higher than last couple of years at this time.

Don't normally trust the site you linked. They show our normal Lake Shelbyville currently @ 540.52. In reality it is 606.28. Normal pool is 599.70. Don't know where they get 540.52. Must be metric system. Little bit of a discrepancy.

We stayed off TR this year. It wasn't record high but close, and tons of floating debris. Every year I think, "It wouldn't be much further to Bull Shoals."
