Just got back from our annual trip to my families place on Bull Shoals Lake. Had a great time as usual. Weather was 95 everyday. Normal level of lake is 640' this year it is at 695'. So that makes some issues. Not much parking at the marina at 3/4 of the roads & parking spots are under water.
Lake is amazing. Water is crystal clear. Picture below is typical of the normal traffic during the week.
Saw this & thought of Frantic electrolysis problem & wonder how much this is making an issue. At normal lake level that light post is probably 40' out of the water. Just glad we don't have a street light behind our slip that we have to back around.
One morning Katie & I went down to feed the fish at the boat dock & a bus full of 12 & 13 year old kids start unloading. They were from a church group & rented out 5 houseboats for the week. 8 kids to a boat. They didn't have camps like that when i was young.
Where they are walking there is normally a road & then parking before you get to the slips. With the lake 50' higher than normal parking becomes a premium.
Dang Kevin, the whole western part of the country is crying for water and you have are well above normal levels. Hang on to all that water, don't let the politicians do anything with it because "the tide could turn". (sorry, bad pun there!)
Thanks for sharing the photos. I didn't recognize the name of the lake so I googled it. That's quite a hike from your 'hood! Looks like a great place to take a vacation.
Don't normally trust the site you linked. They show our normal Lake Shelbyville currently @ 540.52. In reality it is 606.28. Normal pool is 599.70. Don't know where they get 540.52. Must be metric system. Little bit of a discrepancy.
