Introducing this "thing" at Ft. Lauderdale Boat show at the end of October. I shared this with a couple of people, and wanted to wait to post here, but I just could not stand it any longer.
A 43ft. Cruiser/Bowrider. You can place your order, but you will have to stand in the line of two people ahead of you who want to buy one. Those people are "Frenchy" and a homeless guy from Alabama. grin

Classic case of "What the hell were they thinking?!"

The polite thing to say about it is "how interesting".

Thanks for posting it.

Is there a link to it somewhere? Seems like an odd duck to me as well. I guess if you have a lot of sun bunnies you wish to show off.

PH, all I found was those two pics on the FW "spacebook" page.
No linky for more info yet.

It is basically a "hacked-up" Vista 435. Same hull etc.

Is there any room under the bow seating area? As in berths? I gotta say, the lack of open space on a cruiser is a big negative to me, so if you still preserved function while adding the outdoor space I could see a benefit.

I can't imagine taking an open bow boat into big water. This would limit the market for this particular vessel.

Looks like they're designing a boat for the Lake of the Ozarks crowd. They want a big bowrider, but then they want a cruiser so they can hide from the sun/rain. So many of the cruisers at that lake are used only as day boats for cruising and anchoring out.

My boat came from there, it is a 2005 and I don't think either of the berths had been used by the previous owner. I am also pretty sure the shower has never been used.

Thinking about it I could see a boat like this on Texoma. No big water to worry about, lots of space for entertaining and being seen. Just needs the dancers pole in the middle of the forward seating area.

I would guess/hope that there is some sort of tonneau cover for that area. Something sturdier than canvas.

Another interesting concept.

The trend towards big SUV type boats are drawing interest in the marketplace. Regal, SeaRay, Formula, Cruisers, Cobalt, Monterey, and Chaparral are all producing a similar boat with their own twist.

I would not lump this hybrid-bowrider/cruiser into the same category as the big bowriders you mentioned.( Regal 3200,Sea Ray 350SLX,Cruisers 328SS,Cobalt 336,Monterey 328SS,Chap 307SSX,327SSX,357SSX). Those builders have boats that are bowriders, with an overnight mid ships cabin, more like a cuddy. Four Winns already has the H310 like the big bowriders , and will introduce the H350 at FLIBS which is a direct competitor to the aforementioned "big" bowriders from the other builders.

The only real similarity is that it is big, and it has seating in the bow.

May I go out on a limb here?

What this topic brings into discussion is that there may be styles of forms of boating that push the boundaries of what we are use to.

In my case I live in central Oklahoma. The only water we have around here is what we have damned up and refused to let the Texans have. Just cause we don't care for them much.

On our southern border we have a common body of water that for us is huge but would only be a side issue for the rest of you.

A boat like this would appeal to a lot of "mineral rights rich" Okies and Texans that live near here. We don't need the ability to be self sufficient for days or weeks at a time. One or two days is the max. While this boat may not work well in the gulf or the coast, it could find it's own little niche with us.

Again, the forward area needs a dancers pole. Just to give my Admiral something to do when she is not serving up canapes and petit fours.

The same goes for the waters available to Arizona boaters. But for party boats we usually see deckboats, houseboats, or pontoons. This will be one expensive party boat!
