Anyone know how to make the font bigger on a computer?

I've done something to my laptop and the fonts on all pages and websites are too dang small.

When I pull up Craigslist, for example, the font is so small I can hardly read it and the whole Craigslist page only takes up about half the width of the screen.

I've done the Control Panel>Appearance and Personalization>Display and have chosen the Medium size for the font and it's still too small.

No jokes about my getting old and the eyes going, cause that ain't the cause.

I recall there's a combination of keystrokes that you can use to make the fonts bigger and smaller but I can't find it in the help screens.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you have one of those scroller mice, you can hold down the ctrl key while rolling the scroller button up or down to change the font size on the display.

I also think in IE there is a zoom button on the lower right.

In the browser window press and hold down the [CTRL] key and then the "+" key

In most browsers...

[CTRL] and + will zoom in
[CTRL] and - will zoom out
[CTRL] and 0(zero) will restore it to default size.

Temporarily Boat-less but working to change that status.

First, hold it over your head and shake it back and forth until the display is clear. Then, start again but use those little white knobs down in the corners more carefully.

The font size didn't change, you just need to get your eyes checked.

Lastly, in IE, "VIEW" pull down, to "ZOOM" choices.

Mike, I assume when you say "shake it back and forth" you're referring to me shaking my booty, right? idn I'd look rather silly walking around the house with my laptop over my head while shaking my booty!!! laugh laugh laugh

Thanks all of you for the suggestions. I must have hit the CTRL and slider without realizing it and that's probably what made the font smaller. It's nice to see it again. While these old eyes ain't what they used to be, when I went in to renew my drivers license I had to take a vision test and was still able to pass it without glasses.

I use a pair of low power cheaters for reading, but don't need glasses yet for driving. Oh, and to maintain my stellar reputation for being the resident BABC Cheapskate, you'll be pleased to know the cheaters come from the Dollar Store.

I'm always amazed that some company can produce these cheater glasses cheaply enough to sell them in this country for a buck. If they can do that, why does a pair of similar glasses cost $100 or more at an optician? One of life's little mysteries.
