Another hint; this place is a waterway east of the Mississippi that runs through a city.

Here is another pic and a few more will follow:

Check the exif data for Lat/Lon? funny

Not sure where the place is but they definitely ate at the "Edited Photo Saloon"...

If you want to get back at them and you cannot figure out where it is at, do this:

Last photo, where they cut out part of the photo - most surely some identification as to the place, why not be a bit more creative and stitch a photo of say the Mackinac Bridge behind a window into that spot and send that photo to them.

Then you will know where (your version of) the photo was. At least, make them prove it isn't.

I find when it comes to the game of 1-up man's-ship, when you are stuck, the more irrelevant and contradictory you can make the situation, the better.

I made a career out of that kind of thinking...

some call it "out of the box" thinking.

Bperg, not Pittsburgh…

Al, I already know where this place is. (I edited that pic)
My relative was just bragging a bit & since I am generally a nice guy, I let them have their fun.
I have been to a few places, but not this one.

Just wondering if anyone else might care to guess...

I guess it is close enough to April 1st…

Our youngest had a blast recently in Nashville.
She performed at the Grand Ole Opry with her middle school show choir.
They had a nice stay in a resort motel & took in a river boat ride.
They really enjoyed the city.

She had a blast and we loved her stories and pics.

Glad they had a good time. Did they perform at the Grand Old Opry House or the original Ryman Auditorium?

They probably stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and rode the General Jackson or similar boat to downtown and back. I thought the old turret looked like one of the remnants from the early 1900’s Cumberland River lock system, but I could not imagine someone on here posting pictures from the area. Although I don’t place the restaurant, the bridge is an old railroad bridge east of downtown in the Shelby Bottoms area. Ingram Materials is on the right and Shelby Park and city golf course is on the left. The old building is part of the Nashville water dept complex. From the May floods, most of this area was underwater. The Grand Ole Opry House and the Opryland Hotel also flooded and were closed several months. They still have not reopened the adjoining Opry Mills Shopping Center, except for Bass Pro.

Was thanks for info on the area! Our Daughter loved Nashville btw.
“They probably stayed at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and rode the General Jackson…”
That is exact.

They performed at the Opry.
They also recorded in RCA recording studio B – where Elvis recorded.
(quite a thrill for at least some of the kids, as my daughter just corrected me for saying “supposedly recorded” - Elvis recorded there she says).

She got a pic of Ryman also…

Here is the outside shot of the bar I posted (boating theme, right?)

She took many pics – here are just a few more…

The best part of their story is how they spotted and chased down Johnny Depp.

It would have been nice for us to afford the trip as chaperones – but it is just as nice seeing our daughter bring it all back grin

Margaritville has only been open a few months and I have not been there yet, and yes Elvis recorded several records in Studio B for RCA Records.

Studio B & performers that recorded there

The Ryman was the original Grand Ole Opry location, and was behind Tootsies Orchid Lounge (the purple building in your last picture) across the alley. The Opry had two shows on Friday and Saturday nights and most of the performers from back to Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, etc through unknown songwriters like Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson (sp?) would go to Tootsies and drink beer between shows and afterward.

I see she went to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Nashville is building a new convention center and a new Omni Hotel which will connect to the Hall of Fame.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but an interesting story came back to me:
When I looked for the link to Studio B, I saw that Dan Maddox built the recording studio. I knew Dan, but did not know he built this studio. To relate to boating (although in a very sad way) Dan and his wife Margaret were killed in the mid 1990s in a boating accident in Louisiana. Both were avid hunters and on a hunting trip they were headed to an island hunting preserve with about another 12 hunters in the early morning fog when the boat they were on was struck by a tug. I don’t remember all the details of the accident, but several others were injured.

Now the interesting part….Dan and Margaret left between 75 and 100 million dollars in a charitable foundation, and named his bookkeeper as the head of the foundation. While she gave some funds to local Nashville charities the Maddox family had supported, she moved the foundation to Mississippi where the laws are less stringent, and used foundation funds to by a minor league hockey team and a minor league baseball team (allegedly for the purpose of civic development); paid herself a $300,000 salary, and generally lived a very lavish and fast lifestyle, such as flying on a private jet to the sports teams away games, on the foundation’s funds. Seeing the waste of money, the State of TN sued the foundation to try to get it back in TN. During the lawsuit it came out that this woman was sleeping with a former governor of Mississippi, who was her attorney, as well as many of the hockey and baseball players. Bottom line, they finally settled the lawsuit and $50 million of the foundation was moved back to Nashville. I am sure enough was left in the Mississippi foundation to continue to support her. I don’t know, but I would hope that all the publicity caused the IRS to audit the Mississippi foundation and put a stop to some of her wasteful spending.

wasjr, interesting history on the area.
Sounds like the wrong two people died in that story frown

Kinda on topic of the original post:
Here is a one minute clip of our daughter and her choir performing at the Opry
