Boat's gone. I'm on an extended boat shopping trip.
Truck's been traded in for a Mini-van. The rugrats are taking over! Update: As of July 2010, might be thinking of getting back in! :-)

It looks like the whole bottom from the water line down has warts. I myself would continue to look UNLESS someone could prove that they are harmless and will go away. If you ever decide to sell this will be a sticking point for the next buyer just as it has you concerned.

That is what my Four Winns looked like when I pulled it out of the water. Four Winns admitted that the hull was poorly layed up at the factory which is why they offered to fix it even though they had no blister warranty at the time.
Regal makes fine boats but that is not one of them. That boat has major water intrusion issues.

The only way to fix that and be sure they never come back is to strip the entire bottom of its gelcoat, and then put on a barrier coat and paint it. You will then have to deal with a painted bottom boat.

Even if they go away on their own, which they may if the boat sits out of the water for long enough, the next owner may keep it in the water and the blisters will return.

Yes, scrap . . . rhymes with crap. I did not see the photos until after I posted my latest comment. BUT now that I have seen them, that thing is a HORROR SHOW.

Don't even think that they can be really fixed. That boat has the measles.

If I was looking for a boat and came across what you have found, it would be one look at the hull and then 'see ya, don't want to be ya'

Can we end this thread now?

HaHa!
We can end it, with one more good answer from you or anyone else. The boat layout, etc... is perfect. I mean perfect. There is another one locally that I believe is asking $5K more. I think it is a year or two older. I also think it may be bottom-painted, as I did talk to the broker. Would anyone venture to say whether this model will have the problem throughout or is it likely that just this one, single hull is bad? Ie, I want a Regal 2120 now. But do I need to ditch the whole make and/or model? Could it be just this one hull, this year, etc....? Or is it best to scrap the whole 2120 lineup and/or the whole brand?

"Update:
Called Regal and it MIGHT still be covered under warranty. Talked to owner (actually deceased owner's son) and he was many times thankful for the legwork I did. He seemed oblivious to the issue being a problem and promises to call Regal on Monday to try to get it resolved."

I would see what Regal has to say, & go from there.

Honestly that's what my neighbors boat looked like and after a couple months on the trailer it was fine, but I don't want to be the one to talk you into a money pit either. See what Regal says after they see the pics and decide from there.

I guess the prudent thing to do is to walk but I'm not sure that any other Regal wouldn't look the same after sitting in the water with no barrier coat.

HORROR SHOW, That is exactly what this is.

It doesn't matter what brand or model it is. These things happen to every manufacturer. It's just bad luck to end up with one.

I agree, end of thread Please! I can't understand why anyone would tell you to buy this boat.

OK end it. But found another locally a year older. Do I have to worry about high percentage that b/c its the same make and model and 1 year off, the same problem is likely to be there?

Other one is bottom-painted and resides in a slip.

Very few boats blister. When a fairly new boat blisters then something went wrong at the factory. It happens, but not very often. I think Regal makes a great boat ( I almost bought one but went with a Formula instead).
Be patient, There are too many good boats out there to settle on one with problems.
