Hoping to find out tomorrow what happened to the couch.

The salesman said that they get these rigs, then do NOTHING to them. Anything that needs done gets bartered into the deal, and is taken care of before delivery. Yesterday we did a walk thru to check everything, found some light bulbs that needed replacing, need the storage door latch I mentioned above, and a missing couch. We fired the furnaces, AC's, TV's, inverter, everything was okay. Generator wouldn't start, but the fuel gauge is pinned on empty, so we're assuming more fuel is all we need. Water system is winterized, but I can at least hear the pump running.

Anyway, they're going verify everything's good before we take 'er home...

The thought has occurred to me a few times recently to sell our boat and buy a motorhome. Not quite ready to do that though.

congrats FR! I guess the genny must be gas. I would have thought it would just be plumbed to the main tanks. Is that standard in MHs to have a genny that runs on different fuel than the engine?

Thanks Prober! The genny is an Onan diesel, and it IS plumbed to the main tank. But the generator's fuel intake can't get at the last 15 gallons or so of fuel, so you don't accidentally run the tank empty with the generator and strand yourself. Since the fuel gauge is on empty, we're assuming there's not enough fuel for the generator to fire (it tries, but no go)

I have found that some of the diesel motorhomes have propane generators...

Exactly... I have a little arrow on my fuel gauge about 1/4 between 1/4 and empty, and in reading the owner's manual, it states to not turn the genny on if the needle is past this point as it wont turn on.

Nice buy FR! does it have autolevelers? Most 'A's We've seen, especially the larger ones, do. I wish I did in my C class, cuz sometimes it's a bee-otch to get level.

If it's 10 yrs old, check the roof... mine just leaked in this last rain we had.

Nu2, yes it has auto levelers, I tried them out, pretty cool, just push a button and wait a minute. I can't think of anything it doesn't have. Not sure the sat dish is auto-tracking, but I think it is. There's even a Yamaha 5.1 theater sound system in the thing.

I did check the roof, and the sealant is starting to show cracking so I'll be freshing up on the roof. The roof itself is good shape. And since every thing I've ever owned with a roof has leaked, I checked everywhere for signs of ANY leaks. I do think it's launched a boat or two because the 2 rearmost storage cabinets have had water in them, but not a sign of water anywhere else.

Can't wait to take it for a good ride! The thing is literally a semi with a motorhome body. Going to be fun learning to use all the "semi" stuff, like air-brakes... The touch-pad tranny shifter will be fun, and there's no "park", gotta set the air-brakes. Some new gauges to get used to, boost, EGT, a pair of air gauges...

Do you still have the 5th'er that you lived in for a winter and had the condensation issues with the fireplace? Does the new MH have capabilities for towing a car?

We sold the 5'er the next spring, in '07. Broke the wife's heart too. We got $2000 more than we paid for it. That's when we got the '89.

and yup, good hitch setup on the motorhome... smile

Boy FR, the more you tell us about the MH the more I like it. laugh
I figured it should fit on the side of the house since that SunRunner fit. But this is just a little longer than the SunRunner.... rolleyes
Sounds like you and the Mrs and the puppy doggy should be happy with it. laugh

Geez, being self employed sucks when you're trying to buy something, the requests for paperwork never end...

But I found our sofa! Seems they got in a $200,000 rig with a damaged or missing sofa (?), and thought the pretty white leather sofa in the Allegro would work. Going to be interesting to see what happens next. The sofa IS pictured and listed in our rig's advertisement, but it's also listed in the ad for the other rig (that's how I found it)...

On the one hand it would be nice to have the matching sofa that came with the thing--

HOWEVER... I wouldn't be against a new sofa with recliners. Or even a pair of rocker-recliners, but space may be an issue with rockers...
