From our Craigslist. These two Chriscraft's need a bit of buffing and polishing but they could be in the water in no time.....

"One 1949 Chriscraft Sedan 33' with twin 6 cyl. Chrysler Crown engines, no trailer, needs work $6,000 or best offer and One 1949 Chriscraft Commandor 34' with twin 318 Chrysler with 2:56 velvet drives and 21 X 19 SS props, no trailer, needs work $6,000 OBO both sitting for a few years interested call 1-509-586-8310 or 1-509-308-2059"

I would bet that you could set up a direct transfer of money from your savings account to a hole in the ground and in nothing flat you could have these two beauties in good working order and your savings account completely drained. eek eek

I see what you're getting at GFC. It wouldn't be for me.

But if the wood is good, it might be worth something to someone? idn

Probably only cost a couple hundred thousand apiece to fix them up.

I guess they might be usefull as patterns to build replacement boats after but it seems like it would be much easier to just start over.

I"m thinking they'd make good kindling. There may be some old nautical stuff on board that might be cool to have but that'd be about it.

Went to a lien sale last year, there was a 1949 Chris craft think it was 42-44' could have purchased for $1.00!! It was still in the water in a covered slip. Did not sell even for a dollar! The ole salts were saying put $70 - 120,000.00 in it, you will have a great boat!!

Rotf @ in the water in no time... sure but they didn't say they'd float. I don't know anything about boats overall, but I know those boats ain't worth 6 grand a piece.

The truth is that as a restoration project of a classic antique wooden boat these boats don't appear to be in bad shape. However that year and model of Chris Craft boat is not considered a desirable antique collectible in my opinion. Bottom line is that even if someone spent thousands of dollars to get one in shape it still wouldn't be worth the asking price.

Was that up at Perry's? There were a lot of old abandoned looking boats up there before the new owner took over.

Yes it was...could have purchased several different boat for a buck that day!!! There were 4 or 5 that good deals, but the best two out of the bunch, the people caught up on their slip fees, so were pulled from the sale.

in the water, under the water, it's all semantics...

Looks like two fine original Chris Craft submersibles right there, pretty rare to see them above water (usually don't come back up).
