Found this while cleaning out my basement today:

If anyone wants this manual, it's yours!

That's an oldie. When I was a little kid (and that was a looooong time ago) we had one of those cameras. That was in the early- to mid-50's.

That brings back memories. My parents had one of those when I was a little kid. Instant gratification before the days of digital cameras.

My grandfather was a fan of Polaroid cameras, and I recall him having several throughout the ages.

I have a number of older cameras around, from Brownies to Polaroids. My uncle just gave me a Polaroid Land Model 100 with the last month actually! They sold their house and were moving and getting rid of stuff. The 250 replaced the 100. There were surprisingly expensive for their time...about $160 according to Camerapedia.

Polaroid announced a while back they were halting production of film. A group stepped in and bought the rights, they are supposed to make an announcement soon.

It turns out many in the art community and a few other niches rely on Polaroids as part of their work process. There was a big run on the film when the first announcement came out.

Here are a few links for any interested:

I actually found a few old pictures tucked in the cases of the cameras my Uncle gave me. It was neat to be able to see them and send them to them.

Neat bit of nostalgia you have there.

Most of my Polaroid experience was with a Polaroid back on a 4x5 view camera. I still have an old Polaroid camera (not that back). Funny story, the old Polaroid was my very first electronic camera. I was mystified that it wouldn't work just because the battery was dead.

Just the other day I found an OLD picture of my mom & dad, with a "frame" around it stating "developed in 10 seconds with the NEW Polaroid-Land camera!" --I believe it was taken in 1959. There's a circa 1966 Polaroid camera still here in mom's closet.
