I have a number of older cameras around, from Brownies to Polaroids. My uncle just gave me a Polaroid Land Model 100 with the last month actually! They sold their house and were moving and getting rid of stuff. The 250 replaced the 100. There were surprisingly expensive for their time...about $160 according to Camerapedia.
Polaroid announced a while back they were halting production of film. A group stepped in and bought the rights, they are supposed to make an announcement soon.
It turns out many in the art community and a few other niches rely on Polaroids as part of their work process. There was a big run on the film when the first announcement came out.
