I'm heading out there with the family this coming weekend. Its our first time on that lake and I was wondering if there was anything I should be on the lookout for? There are some places here in Greenwood Lake that I know not to go, anyplace like that out there?

Thanks.

John

Great link! Thanks very much. I'm going to do some searching tomorrow for the address of the visitors center, it looks like a great resource. I just hope the weather cooperates.

Thanks!

Are you camping? We camped at ironwood (I don't remember). We found out that the showers are coin operated.

Thanks Holiday! We actually were planning on staying at Ironwood but I'm going to do a little research into Ledgedale since it sounds like its a little sheltered from the main lake. Unfortunately they don't appear to have a web-site so that makes it hard to do. If we get there early enough we might just check it out in person before we make a decision. The kids (3 and 6) are coming along so if they don't have a playground then Ledgedale might be out for sure. smile

Now that you mentioned Ledgedale, that is where we stayed. The ramp is nice there and it is in a no wake zone. There are also slips that you can rent as well.

I went and did a search but couldn't find it. The subject should be called Pack '05 for the BABC trip we did.

Thanks! The last message in the last thread was exactly what I was looking for:

Quote:
Mort told me, stay as close to the center of the lake as possible. They have heard of people catching a outdrive as close to 50' off shore!

I'll have to take an hour or so to read through the "Pack 06" link, its like a 20 page thread. shocked

I got the bottom of the boat all cleaned up today, the outdrive oil changed, all the fittings greased, and had time to compound the port side out before the kids had soccer practice tonight. I'm off tomorrow so if the weather holds out I'll compound the rest and put a coat of wax on her. Its too hot to do that stuff in the summer but its just right now.

We had a really nice time out there in spite of the weather. We stayed at Ironwood camp ground. The guy at the desk was kind of odd and truthfully he seemed like a bit of an a$$. He was fixated on telling everyone that came up to camp with us that "this is a family campground", as if we were a bunch of teenagers. WTF? I was there with my wife and two kids. Weird guy but whatever. I definitely will be going up to The Pack next summer for a camping/boating trip. Thanks for to those of you that gave me some info here.

I can't believe I missed this post, we're at the pack almost every summer weekend. I've been away from BABC for awhile. Start this up again for next summer, maybe we can get a BABC get together at the pack again!!
