I'm laughing at an ad for a (quite beautiful, and quite out of my reach unless I sell my house) 2006 sea ray 320 sundancer... what is making me laugh is that it has THREE TV'S in the cabin and ONE TV on deck... now is that overkill? Even if you could afford it why would you want that many freakin' TVs? That's more than I have in my entire house. When I am out on a beautiful lake I hope a TV is the last thing I want to look at. I'd like ONE in case the grandkids get bored, and yeah, on long trips occasionally watching a little TV doesn't seem sinful... but FOUR on ONE boat??? (not a huge huge boat either even if it is beautiful)

When we upgrade to a cruiser, we'll have TV's. Primarily, as you mentioned, for the kids (atleast two TV's because they can't agree to watch the same program...ever). The children will and do get bored. We have DVD players for when we're out on our bowrider. I can also see having TV's for the evening (say at the dock) and I'd watch some baseball or football on a cockpit TV out on the hook too...beer in one hand, cigar in the other and the Phillies or Eagles on the LCD .

LOL sounds like that boat is tailor made for you Grip. I can see one... maybe two if like your kids, they can't agree... no, sorry I can't see two. hahahaha
Maybe that's it though. The people that owned that boat had three kids... they locked them down below to fight over the three tvs and had one up top for themselves.
I agree with Deepv though, why bother boating if you're going to spend all that time watching TV. I would like "a" TV on the boat we're looking for... for late nights, or inclimate nights, but mostly for the grandkids and if they can't agree they get cast overboard (lol).

We have 3 TV's. We have one in our stateroom, one in the galley , and one up top. They do come in handy for all sporting events. We have a satellite dish. So we can watch the games on the water. While we have beer and cigars out on the water.

another consideration is whether you'll be able to watch tv inside.
most people who are conscious (and although it's debatable, let's assume for a moment that you must be conscious to watch tv) prefer to be outside in anything other than very calm conidtions (ie in a slip at the marina or in a very protected harbor, or in absolutely dead-calm conditions). being inside a cabin when the boat is tossing is a good way to toss your cookies.
on the other hand, the tv's will last a long time if they're not used.
