FR,
I'm about ready to do that...actually am just waiting for some freaking sunshine and NO rain. We keep getting pounded on up here. Hopefully next weekend, I gots to work this weekend.
My insurance agency said they always write a clause about "animal damage being excluded."
But I'm down to actually bidding out ONLY the ripped up pieces and we'll see what that comes in at. I should know tomorrow.
I'll keep you all posted.

Well the mechanical work is done on her and hopefully she will get on the water this weekend if my knee feels ok. I'm having a scope done tomorrow. A day on the water will be good therapy.

Good luck with the scope. Hope the tears are minor. Sounds like you could use a good day on the water.

Think if I were you I'd read my current policy very carefully. Then find a new insurance carrier. My insurance agent was very surprised to hear your policy excluded the damage.

Prober, thanks for the wishes. I'm home now from the scope and the Dr said it should help with the pain. I do have some arthris issues he said, and he told my hubby that I would most likely need either a partial or full knee replacement done is several years.
captkevin, I will be doing some checking around with other insurance companies when this current policy expires. smile

Sorry to hear about the troubles LBS. Hope all turns out well.

Just a thought - might want to get that knee replacement done sooner rather than later when the gubment is control of the decision.

LBS, for what this is worth, My father who is a physician and suffered from knee problems for as long as I can remember, had a knee replacement about 15 years ago and wished he had left it alone. The rehab was excruciateing and the level of pain was not much better. I know they have made great progress in that area so hopefully it is not so bad now. Not trying to sway you one way or the other but be sure to ask plenty of questions about qaulity of life/comfort before making any decision.

Prober,
I absouletly intend to do just that. I have a friend-John- who is looking at the same thing in about the same time frame. I'm not one who will jump on the surgery bandwangon because I really dislike the idea of being put under for "unnecessary/optional" procedures unless I'M absouletly certain that the benefits out weigh the negatives. That's why I waited so freaking long to have this scope done.
I also know someone who had a knee replacement and it went really well and he had the other one done also. I suppose it depends alot on the person and exactly what's wrong with the knee and all that other medical stuff.
Knee's not feeling too bad right now and I'm not taking the pain meds like they say to--I'm not much into taking drugs like that-unless I can NOT stand the pain, then that's a whole nother story.
Thanks for the input and advise-I value advise from friends-alot!!

Sounds like you have a good plan. I know they have improved the techniques drastically in the last few years.

LBS & crew, just read through this post tonight.
Hate to see how the varmints chewed up your boat!

Regarding the knee; hopefully you will be OK in the near future and not need surgery.
I have an uncle who had both knees replaced (10+) years ago and he is OK.
I have a friend and coworker who will need knee replacement surgery, but is doing fine.
(sounds like you).
Her doctor doesn’t want to do it until after 50 – she is OK with that for now.
Anyway, best of health to you smile
