I removed the old faded red stripes on the hull and replaced them with 1 black stripe and a 3 piece stripe of silver/gray/black. I came up with a unique housing for the square elec. receptical on my trailer- it works great. Check out how my trailer turned out after removing he rollers and making it a bunk style.
I also removed the faded and cracked windshield trim and stuffed 5/8" rope into the channel that the trim was covering. The red LED lights on the side cover up the end of the rope that I couldn't get to stay in place. The below site should take you to pictures.

Click on photos above and click "all" then scroll to the pics I put there.

I took it out for a quick spin before going North for Memorial Day Weekend. It ran perfectly. Speedo indicated 49 MPH but my friend said he thinks it was moving considerably faster than that.

KurtK,

Your link took me to a website called Snapfish? Snapfish wanted me to sign up with them, but I don't like to do that. Is there any other way to see your pictures?

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

If you go over to the photos option, I added the pictures there. Can't seem to move them over to this forum page though. I'm at a loss as to what to do . Sorry for the extra step to see the photos.

A lot of us host our pictures on PHOTOBUCKET. I do that because on that site they have a place to just choose the proper link and cut and paste it onto here -- your photo will then appear here. The proper link has this on each end ---[IMG]......[IMG]

We all have gone through learning to post pictures --
Good luck

thanks

Here's a start...all I can access is the thumbnail link though, I think b/c its your picture. If you go to the photo yourself you should have more links to pick from. If it the url doesn't have after it then click on the weird little icon in the "reply" window that looks like a angled face w/ 2 blue eyes. Its the 4th one from the left (the 1st is a smiley face)...select "insert a non-floating image" and paste the picture's url.

Other good places to host pics for free are PictureTrail and Photobucket. When you click on a pic in your account you should see something beside it our under it somewhere that has an url for posting the pic on forums. In Photobucket its called the IMG Code and in PictureTrail there is a small link under the photo called Image URLs. With both these sites you can skip using the BABC photo posting icon as the urls will already include the [img] and [img/] tags.

The key is the photo has to be in a folder that is NOT password protected. Snapfish may have that option...see if you can set up a folder that is public while keeping your other personal photo folders private. Another option is to simply keep a separate account for posting pics on forums. For example I have an "athiker" account at both of the sites I mentioned above. I use Picasaweb and Kodak Gallery for family pics. Though Kodak recently began requiring a small minimum annual purchase or they may delete the photos.

I can see you have a few nice upgrades,,, I like the helm,, center console and shifter,, very nice touch...

In my past I refit a 86 Thompson 185 BR... When I got it she was a complete basket case.. No drive unit at all,, the 135 HP 4 cyl ran but not good,, no trailer and she sat uncovered for about 3 years so vynil was cracked,, all of the wood in floors,, stringers and backing for all side panels and seat was shot,, and engine cover/sunpad was completely rotted... The gelcoat was totally sun burnt and all decals were faded... BUT no spider cracks or gauges and very straight...

I gutted it,, ripped out floors and stringers... Laid up 5/4 by 6" bulkheads with stripes of 1/2' pressure treated on either side and glassed them to hull bottom and side to reform the missing frame work.. Then laid in 3/4" pressure treated ply for floor board... Rebuilt engine box,,beach seat,,sun pad,,bucket seat,,side panels and dash.. I custom built a full transom width boarding platform,,, and custom fabricated the helm seat frame added a 9 volt motor which powered the seat up into a leaning post type position... Sometimes a person must stand to see past passengers in the bow seats...I added a CD player with 4 speakers and a custom built locker cabinet on port side from under dash to floor... Then I replaced that tired old 4 cyl with a new transplanted Ford Marine 351 small block V-8 and a Gen 1 Mercruiser drive...

Built a custom trailer with bunks replacing the rollers on the rear pods and retained rollers for front...

Stripped all tape and decals from sides and wet sanded for days but I did get through the sun damaged gelcoat and it returned to it's maroon color... The sanding removed all hints of the name decal and with a much more aggressive stance in water it was hard to believe it was once a basic 4 cyl BR...

And with the V-8 a Stainless 3 blade 20" prop it would cruise in high 40's and top out around 58 Mph.. at that speed not much of it was in the water and there was no power steering... It kept you on your toes...

Anyway,,, Awesome job,, I can appreciate the work you put into her,,, enjoy it...
