Getting ready to pull the boat for the winter, (jealous of all you guys in the south ) - but starting to think of some projects. I have a 15 inch LCD TV at home not being used and was wondering if I could mount it in the V-Berth of my boat.
I have some concerns. 1.) how do I mount it so that the vibrations and pounding will not pull the TV off the wall 2.) do I use the regular mount that I have at home? 3.) would I use some sort of molley screw to hold it to the wall.
We used a standard vesa mount with a full motion arm on our boat. Our TV had to be mount in such a way that it could be folded flat against the ceiling while the boat was underway as I didn't trust the standard vesa mount to hold the TV. I made SS mounting brackets that would hold the TV securely while underway.
It was a pretty big project that included drilling oversized holes throught the cabin roof then filling them with West system epoxy and redrilling to protect the coring material etc. Making SS backing plate to spread the load etc.
