we saw him last night and it was a great time,

the first concert i saw as a 13 year old boy was Neil and last night was 35 years later !
that time many years ago that i first saw Neil, i took my 14 year old cute (read: blooming) cousin as my 'date', and boy was that fun,
well last night Valerie and I watched this guy give a great show,

he introduced his band, the bulk of them have played with him now for 30 years!

not quite the Grateful Dead i have followed all the years inbetween, but i just may have enjoyed last night the most,

worth seeing!

I still watch The Jazz Singer when I see it on TV. One of last centuries most distinctive voices.

Was it at the Greek Theater? Are there any more SoCal dates?

BTW, is Valerie your blooming cousin?

no grin Valerie is not my blooming cousin, very funny big guy eek
i probably could have phrased that differently,
Valerie is my Lady and related to me ONLY in that we went to college together and remet a year ago grouphug,

and i saw a list of his concerts for this year and there are like 35 of them so this is a touring year, i don't know all the cities,

we saw him at sanDiego's SportsArena (where the Clippers used to play, and where the Gulls used to play, and...alright, alright, so sanDiego doesn't hold sports teams for long)

and troop, i agree, he really has a one of a kind voice, he's a good guy

I saw him perform in Fenway Park a couple months ago. Not the best venue for music. It was a good time, I can say I did it, don't think I'll be saying I did it twice though.

his voice sounds the same as i've always remembered it,
i remember seeing BB King a few years ago at a small venue up in L.A. and (I know I know he's an old guy and with health problems) but i was a bit sad that he was having problems standing up for a long time and didn't really play any songs with his guitar the full way thru - he just played his riffs.
... well I was happy that Neil seemed as close to what i remembered him as 35 years ago as possible.

i had seen him at the Owatonna County fair (MN). Boy do people in farming Owatonna take their county fairs seriously!

FatDog,

You grow up in MN? Escaped from Albert Lea years ago.

Neal recently stated that the song "sweet Caroline" was written about Caroline Kennedy who was like 9 at the time. Kinda creepy.

My wife is going out with her girlfreinds next weekend to see a "Neal" cover band. Not my cup of tea.

Them there farm folk are attracted by all the bright lights and shiny stuff! They're easily entertained.
