My mom and dad sent me some emails from their journey along the Hudson last week. They were on a senior's tour.

We cruised down the Hudson then circled the Statue of Liberty while our PA system played Kate Smith singing God Bless America. This was a group of people who remembered WWII so it was an emotional moment.

The wheel house on the boat was lowered so that we could clear this bridge.

The first Erie Canal was built for canoe travel.
We were given permission to do a bow landing because we had perfect weather conditions and therefore we were able to view what is in the next picture.
We are entering one of the 25 or more locks that we went through. Our boat was built for the Erie Canal with one foot clearance on each side and about a 2 inch clearance going under some of the bridges. In this picture we are still climbing - later we will drop down into the Hudson River. love, Mom
