lets see, in the last year or so we have been working on a lot of things. most of which you all know of like the bathroom:

I still need to put the two outlets in and wire the small electric heater but its fully functional. I installed a 150 cfm vent fan and placed it on a timer to run a minimum of 30 minutes. I also installed FRP above the shower surround due to the low cieling right above - condensation being the animal to chase after here.

then there was the camper:

Totally rotten side boards on the cieling/top which I had to replace from scratch cuz I didnt have a template to go by. Lots of glueing and waiting, clamping and waiting etc etc. but it turned out great and now doesnt leak at all.

LOTSA landscaping that took place this year too, after the cat died I put in a "memorial" in the back yeard where she is buried (no pictures available yet) and also redid the end of the drive which was just a shambles - only the big rocks and weeds. put in mulch and a rock border too..

you can kinda see it here:

Oh, theres more....

then there was the composter, the firepit project - installed flagstone around the pit. and of course the garden! it yeilded a TON of pickles, carrots, potatos, squash, peas pods, beans, strawberries, and of course pumpkins!!! which did really well this year!!:

lately I have been working with my cousin who is an independant contractor for cash on the side while I look for employment (still) and then working on some electrical, painting of trim and outside stuff (general cleaning before the stinking winter hits)
My truck blew the right side exhaust manifold so I got that all fixed up and the admiral started a new job TEACHING DANCE which is something that she has always dreamed of but I will brag about that in the misc post!!!

lots more to post if I had the pics and the memory..

bradyf, it's important to keep your wits about you during your period of unemployment. Doing anything constructive helps you to remember what you are all about, and keep your mind focused and sharp. I speak from sad experiences, having still not being able to find gainful employment, and now it's going on 16 months. I can't tell you the depression, the feelings of anger, self doubt, and down right worthlessness that will set in if you're out of work for any longer than 6-8 months.
I, like you, delved into various home improvement projects ( outdoor BBQ, bathroom, garage) in between internet and personal job searches, and resume postings and the few interviews that did come along.

Best of luck my friend.... btw, nice looking project outcomes. Gotta love big pumpkins!!!

I can see that you haven't slowed down! All the projects seem to be turning out artfully, and the wife and daughter are looking good, too. It's good to hear that even though things haven't been 100% perfect, they're still looking up. Best of luck to you, my friend!
