I agree Dave, Turned out to be not such a nice day. Once again the weather forecasters were off just a bit. Still managed to get out for a little while. I wanted to go to the Melvin Village area but decided otherwise. Looks like foliage right at the lake is still a week or more off. Gave you a call around 1:00. With the conditions like they were, I wasn't going to go to far. But hey, It was still time on the water. 34 deg at the lake this morning.
By 1:00, I was having baked haddock and a Caesar salad for lunch at Johnson's in New Durham... The trip from WAM to Melvin Village would have been treacherous in a bow rider, when I was out there; I'm glad you opted not to do it. There was 4+ foot, wind whipped, chop (not rollers, but closely spaced, steep, flip-your-boat-over-if-you-took-one-broadside chop). The only smoothish water was from Glendale to Meredith, and Alton Bay. It was nice to be able to maintain 40 MPH with a tailwind past Eagle Island, that area is usually so busy.
