Heading up for our final day on the water. Temps are getting too close to freezing at night lately so it's time to Winterize, sad to say. Hoping for pretty foliage. Anyone else going to be there?

We hope to be on the water Saturday also for our last trip out for the season. Temps look like they could be on the chilly side. We might be chipping ice of the cover in the morning. I think I'm going to pass on one more ski for the year. I'm not sure how the foliage will be. Always seem like right at the lake it's a little behind. Give us a shout on the radio. I would have to guess we would be out some time between 11 and 2. The way the trafic on the lake has been lately, we might be the only two out there.

On a side note, this should be post #500 for me! d

I will try to get a few pics if the foliage is good. Water temp is now 64 deg. Last swim of the year might have been 3 weeks ago.

Foliage was not very good, and it was windy, cold and cloudy. Took water over the bow a few times in the big, steep waves. Not a great day out there.

Sort of an anti-climactic end to the season, I guess. Gonna try next weekend?

Nope, sad to say, it's been in the 30s here a few nights in a row, and only getting colder. I Winterized yesterday after I got back. I'm not one to take chances...

If you can recall that day you test drove Monkey Sea, the wind and waves were worse yesterday

Come on out to Peoria Dave. The river level is down to below flood stage, the no wake restriction is lifted,, and it's been about 70 for a high for the past 3 days and is supposed to continue!

I agree Dave, Turned out to be not such a nice day. Once again the weather forecasters were off just a bit. Still managed to get out for a little while. I wanted to go to the Melvin Village area but decided otherwise. Looks like foliage right at the lake is still a week or more off. Gave you a call around 1:00. With the conditions like they were, I wasn't going to go to far. But hey, It was still time on the water. 34 deg at the lake this morning.

By 1:00, I was having baked haddock and a Caesar salad for lunch at Johnson's in New Durham...

The trip from WAM to Melvin Village would have been treacherous in a bow rider, when I was out there; I'm glad you opted not to do it. There was 4+ foot, wind whipped, chop (not rollers, but closely spaced, steep, flip-your-boat-over-if-you-took-one-broadside chop). The only smoothish water was from Glendale to Meredith, and Alton Bay. It was nice to be able to maintain 40 MPH with a tailwind past Eagle Island, that area is usually so busy.

Last Wednesday the temps were near 70!
Which is fantastic October weather in New England.
Had to blow-off work, and went up to Lake Winnisquam.
Sun was shining, water like glass, and some fall foliage.
Just another perfect day of boating.

This past weekend would have been nice... Glad your day was good Mike K. I recall that it was also a wonderful day for motorcycle commuting.

Dave, I saw your rig at Johnsons that day on my way up to camp. We took our last cruise a few weeks later. Warm calm day, foliage at peak, lunch in Wolfboro. Great way to end the season. We have to do a better job of getting together next season!

I agree. We hardly saw any of the "regulars" last Summer. The lake was pretty dead most of the time.
