The local Caddy Dealer had a 2006 ESV with 28,000 miles for $26K in the lot last week. It was gone by noon. Would hate to have paid sticker for it 2 years before then traded it in. I'm feeling the pain about the values of used QX56 currently and we stole ours in 2006. Might want to check them out before buying the caddy.

Nothing substantial to add dog, other than appreciation of the vehicle you are looking at!
I know the ’07 topic has been covered, but that is where we are... just waiting for the ’07s to depreciate enough to justify the purchase of a newer SUV.
Well I went to look at the Escalade this afternoon. Outside was in very good shape except for one spot on the passenger side door. They said it will be fixed. Looked like it was hit with a rock or something. Interior was very clean. But why on all these GM vehicles of the 2004 - 2006 vintage is the radio area and radio controls on the steering wheel peeling? It is like they put a silver film over and it is not durable at all. Black underneath. To me it looks awful and turns me off.
They did have a REALLY clean 2006 Eddie Bauer Expedition. Looked brand new inside and out. 65k, asking $16,500. I also saw went to see a Toyota Sequoia and a Lincoln Navigator. Really liked the Navigator, white, loaded and just came off lease.
One thing that turned me off the Caddy and probably will the Yukon Denali is the access to the back seat. In the Expy, Navigator and Sequoia the 2nd row seat folds up against the front seat making it easy to get into the 3rd row. But in the Escalade/Yukon, the back of the seat just leans forward. Meaning I would need to get into the second row and climb between the captains chairs. Not easy of you have a small child back there.
So next weekend my wife and I will go out and look so she can see and tell me what she likes and dislikes.

Selling used cars for years, with no dog in the hunt, Fords are cheaper to fix, and need less work than GM or Dodge. I sell a lot of Ford trucks with over 200k miles, then trade them in and sell them again.
Well the Elcalade is out. My wife did not like the interior at all. Which I am fine with.
Now on the Expy. Amazingly clean. Dealer put on new front brakes and all new tires. Wife liked it A LOT. It does have the 5.4 and my wife likes the 2nd row bench. Which she originally wanted captains chairs. We also looked at a 2003 Navigator. It is the non current vehicle of the owner of our local Four Winns dealer. He will consider taking a boat on trade, that is another story. But my boat is worth about $4k - $5k more than his truck. Being a dealer, I know he will not see it that way. He will want retail for the truck and give me trade in value for our boat.
Obviously the Navigator has nicer appointments. But it is also three years older. Very well taken car of though. Of course we both still like the Armada as well. Just none used in our area. We ran out of time, but going to look at two Suburbans on Monday evening.

That looks just like our Expy. Check around the plastic piece on the rear hatch that's above the license plate. Ours has some bubbled rust there and I've seen multiple others with the same issue. Nice vehicle, we're pretty happy with ours, wife more so than I, but i'm a bit picky.

We are considering spending just a little more $$$$ than we origionaly thought. Anyone have any experience with the Expedition EL that Ford came out with in 2007?
This is a 2008, 14000 miles and asking $29,900.
From looking, we decided we liked the bench seat in the 2nd row and not the captains chairs. Gives us more flexibility and seating as our family grows.
Dealer probably paid about $17k (maybe less) for that EB, if it is a 2WD with no Navi, about $1500 more if its 4WD. I'd offer them $21k and be willing to go to $22.
Most dealers are happy these days if they can sell a retail piece for wholesale blue book, and by WBB I mean FAIR condition. NO ONE pay "Excellent" condition for vehicles, always been that way.
