Swing and Sway with Sammy Kaye in other than in the calmest, no wake, marina slip with so much top hammer/weight so far up/off the waterline?

This is a boat model that is just less than 55' LOA.

Leaves something to be desired from an aesthetic point of view. Trying to dock that thing in a quartering wind will be a challenge, too.

So I should get some of my marina neighbors to pose on my flybridge with drinks in their hands? wink

That is a very nice picture, but how close is that kid to landing on the stern drive of that rafted up boat?

I don't care for the way that second deck looks. To me it looks like an ill fitting hat. (No, that doesn't sound like sour grapes at all, noooooo, not at all).

Optical illusion due to the angle and zoom make it look pretty close...

Here's another shot--Notice the back of Joey's boat is about 1/2 way between rail supports. Those supports are 6' apart, the gate opening is about 2' wide, and it's about another 2' to the stern. So the 2 sterns are about 13' apart. The kids are probably landing just as close the houseboat as Joey's boat...

I like the traditional lines but it looks out of proportion. The flybridge area looks too large on that boat.

But what the heck do I know? idn idn

A bridge deck that high kinda works for an expedition yacht (see Nordhavn). But in a "sleek" sport fisherman, it just comes off as clumsy looking. No thanks.

The helm seating at the rear of the bridge just doesn't seem right to me, although if you had some bikini-clad passengers it would give you a nice view.

i can understand the placement of the helm at the rear of the upper deck. otherwise, there would be very little visibility when backing down. however, i'm not sure i would want to sacrifice visbility forward (which is the direction i strive to be moving in most of the time). i would prefer a more forward helm and an extra set of sticks in the cockpit for backing her down. then again, the whole thing looks top heavy to me, which would be a deal breaker long before helm placement.

Good to see an Aussie builder getting some publicity:)

Maritimo is run by the same bloke who started Riviera boats. This style is very popular in Australia, yet curently the fashion is for single level sports cruisers. Maritimo has just released a C550 ( i think) which looks the goods.
