Regarding the ash... For me, there's a whole lot to enjoy in a good cigar. Taste, Smell, AND Sight.
I don't have enough of an aquired taste to pick out all the subtle flavors, I just go by what tastes good or not.
I do like a full bodied smoke, but has to be smooth.
Got into smokeing cigars back a few years when it was trendy. But lost interest as it got harder and harder to find a place to relax and smoke. I think the last straw was when I couldn't even smoke at a strip joint. Can't smoke around the wife and kids. So my humidors sit in the garage.
I had this one smoke I found at a cigar shop that was perfect for my liking. Nothing better than a Carl's Jr. Super Star and this smoke for lunch. mmmmmmmmmm.
But now that I don't smoke much, I have forgotten what it was and haven't been able to find that same enjoyment.

Regarding Macanudos. I have a friend who always smokes these. But I never liked them myself. Don't like the way they burn, and many times I've found they get soggy.

Maybe it's the way I smoke it or maybe I'm chewing it without realizing it??? But I never had the problem with other smokes.
