I don't often get 'personal', but having had a couple of direct exchanges with Dick Bove over his outrageous call last spring, I feel compelled to call him out. Here was headline of his "generational buying opportunity" for bank stocks last March:
Bove says financial crisis over, buy banks

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The financial crisis is over, giving investors a rare chance to buy bank stocks at attractive valuations, Punk Ziegel & Co. analyst Dick Bove said Thursday.
Yesterday, with Wells trading near its 52-week high, Bove UPGRADED the stock. Within hours, concerns about exposure to Lehman paper and the $80-billion exposure to Helocs concentrated in CA and AZ had the stock down 10%.
Some analysts bear watching as contrary indicators. Bove qualifies on a par with Jim Cramer. Just sayin'...
